Used dreamhost because I had a few free ones... been like 4 days. I want to work on these websites so bad. :(

I would contact them if they are taking that long. Someone could snatch them up while you wait. Aplus.net is kind of slow and I have had to contact them a couple times to light a fire under them.

In the email it says it could take this long (tomorrow will be over the deadline) so I'll give them til tomorrow.

The domains are pretty random... I dont think anyone would even think of them.

I advise that you not use your host as your registrar. Always keep the two seperate - You will likely keep your domain longer than your host.

It was free :(

Thanks for the advice though... will take it and start using a real registrar.

BTW... when I went to Godaddy I just tried to see if my domains were open to be taken... they are not.

Says they are in use... should be coming up soon I hope.

Well, when aplus takes forever my domains still come up as available. That was why I contacted them and told them to get their act together.

The only thing I'm wondering is, was your host a big known company or not. I have a few domains with my host, but I'm with Dreamhost, and I like to think I'm safe...Should I be worrying...?!

So true, that has to be the single most important rule in hosting.
