Can you link to it? I couldn't find it searching the site.btw: apparently hydra is announcing a big partnership on april 20th at ad tech.. ppc.bz says so.
As for Hydra, they're an excellent company to deal with. They remind me of Adteractive back in the day (maybe still, haven't dealt with them in years). Still, people here are probably somewhat young in the business world if they assume that personnel changes don't have a major impact in small or medium sized companies (sometimes even large companies, e.g. Apple). And the personnel changes at Hydra that are known are pretty crucial. Anyone who has lived through the last decade or so of this industry knows it's littered with companies that were great to work with until they got bought, canned their staff or what have you. Affiliate Fuel (Experian Interactive!) is the most recent corpse of a company that was quite dynamic and completely tanked after changing direction, but there have been others. Azoogle became a lot less fun to deal with for a while, but eventually turned it around and is back to a top notch company. Companies like Linkshare simply stood still (as does most of the industry in development terms, frankly, but that's another topic). If this announcement is a "partnership" (often an acquisition, or roughly the same thing via an injection of capital) then it could be rough for people working with Hydra. If it's just internal politics, well, they've still gotten rid of, and lost some core staff. Either way, I'm sure everyone hopes they remain the same great company to deal with, I do and people I know aren't making any changes to their dealings with respect to this news, but at the same time many companies simply do not survive as they once were after they lose the personalities that made them what they were and at a time like this it's a good idea to hedge your bets because it is common to see a correlated effect on service quality when there's a loss of quality personnel.
Anyhow, it's all speculation. All there is to do now is see what shakes out and deal with it accordingly. Hopefully what shakes out will be what was already there, because they've been a great company.
