Humanity Is On The Brink Of Something Amazing...

Turned it off after the first few seconds where the retard implied that China is going to own the US.

Humanity may be on the brink of something amazing, but that something is definitely not Ron Paul being president.

Nickycakes, your posts are really starting to make my blood boil you dumb nazi piece of shit.

Kurzweil has defined the Singularity in terms of Moore's law, but there are several definitions that are considered valid (like comparing it to the computational efficiency of the human brain), because they all point to the same concept- we can predict our future because we control technology; when the Singularity has been achieved, the point has been reached where we can no longer predict our future. We effectively cede control of the planet to an intelligence that is beyond our capability of comprehension.

In terms of Moore's Law on a graph, I think we could describe the Singularity as a vertical asymptote. And the only way to access that area is via transhumanism. We should eventually be able to implant a powerful computer the size of a grain of sand into our brains, which would allow us to do things we never could have otherwise imagined. At the point of Singularity, the posthuman is born.

The obvious issue here is that the posthumans would be able to dominate humans in every way, until they are wiped off the planet, if history is any indicator, so the question is whether or not we really want to contribute to our own extinction.

...So we're not going to get back to talking about la revolucion? Sigh.

I'm sure the Amish won't want to evolve with us as we go, but I see no reason why the rest of us would want to stay behind and not get the implant... Surely our jobs and livelihood would depend on getting chipped at some point.

Just evolution here bros... Nothing more, nothing less.
