And regarding to bribing the mods... I've been thinking about it. I'm soon going to launch my HTML & WP theme store, and will give the first one for free to any Mod or trusted member who is interested (review = free support).

Personally, we looking a new companies to hire....I look at their body of work PERIOD. In website design/graphic design, I think your body of work is extremely strong advertising. If you want to build your portfolio, I suggest doing some freelance projects for discounts rates....again make sure your work is GREAT. Also, if you great at design but so so at programming... that will be a problem ( get great at both first).

Then just get freelance to get some good word under you. If you really get desperate then run some adwords to your site or cold call local businesses.

You can try joining Odesk and offering your services there since people are always looking.

Also, offer a few freebies here and there so people try you out and you gain their trust and a reputation, which is very important.
