In my sleep, definitely. That is by far the most peaceful way to go out. It'd just feel like I'm astral projecting one last time :).

As for me, I think deep immersion in liquid nitrogen would be a pretty cool way to go, pardon the pun. You certainly wouldn't feel much.

But semi-seriously, I'd probably go to some continental shelf and just drop like a rock to the bottom of the ocean. I think I'd get the narcotic effects of air before I ran into the whole drowning issue. I hope.
 
Best moment to die is during the sleep, in my opinion. You don't have to say goodbye to your beloved ones. My second choice would be choking, because that gives a feeling of euphoria before dying.

I'd like to die in a war of humans vs aliens. At least something exciting and out of the ordinary. Any other way is plain boring.

As a member of Documenting Reality I'm fairly convinced that the 5 seconds of euphoria you feel won't be nearly pleasant enough to offset the 60+ seconds you spending writhing and spasming uncontrollably whilst your body slowly shuts down, your lungs desperately gasp for air and your bladder and bowels let loose.
 
I'd like to die (the meat sack of me that is) as my consciousness is transferred into an android.
