How to promote a affiliate website?

Here is what you can do.
First of all, you need CONTENT. High quality, engaging content that would make your readers keep reading.
Do you notice how it's very easy to spend more time than you want on sites like Amazon and eBay because of their engaging content(in form of pictures, catchy title, description and reviews) and suggestions to check more content (products) out which might lead to impulse purchase.

Another good example is boredpanda. Their content keeps you reading more and more.. I hope you get the logic???
This is what you want to do. You want content that would keep your readers on your site, surfing through your posts becuase they are interesting and unique. No one wants to read a spin off content of the first 10 websites on the search page.

The second stage is traffic.. Lets face it, it doesn't matter if you have the best content in the world and no one gets to see it. This is where infographics and the use of your creativity would come in. Social media is a powerful tool to use for this. FB page, Twitter and IG depending on what your site is offering. Try to look for content(preferably image) that would engage your readers and have them visit your site either to check out more of such content or out of curioisty)...
Facebook paid ads is also a good strategy.. It all boils down to your budget and the time you have at hand.

Active participation in forums is also important and on social media too. When people see you as an authoirity on a topic or subject, they are more inclined to respect your opinion on products.

Search engines are the best source of traffic. You are sure that people are interested in your content or what you have to offer since they searched it. Do your SEO properly and more people will be landing on your pages.

- Social Media: There are a lot of social media platforms. But for a start, you can focus on Facebook and Twitter as they are the leading platforms and the ones with the most users. Remember that people using Facebook or Twitter are not there to buy stuff, but to socialize and have fun. Make your posts fun and engaging, you can start marketing your products once people land on your website.

- Build relationships: Relationships with other websites/blogs are important. Create a list of relevent blogs, and comment on them regularly. Make sure your comments add value. This will help drive traffic to your website as people would click on your name and land on your site from time to time. It will also help you to get noticed by the blogger. You can later reach out to them and ask for a shoutout, guest post, link or partnership.

- Forums: Be active on forums and add value. Include a link to your website in your signature.

-Paid ads: Facebook Paid ads are an excellent source of traffic. You can target your audience according to their interests, location, age, sex, and much more... Adwords ads cost more but they are a great source of traffic too. If done correctly, these can drive a lot of traffic with good conversion rates, which means more sales. However, mistakes in paid ads can be very costly.

There are hundreds of ways to promote your website. But remember, if your content or your products are not good enough, your website won't succeed no matter how many hours, work and effort you put, or money you spend on advertising. Your goal should always be to make your website as valuable as possible, serving each and every need of your potential customers. A good portion of te traffic you'll drive to your website later will turn into loyal customers.

3. Collaborate with influencers - I suggest Phlanx marketing platform
4. Do SEO for your blog - go to Youtube to learn about SEO
5. Make Youtube videos about your niche or you can post it on FB

Patience and consistency is the key!
 
It is right to do quality blogs and articles to make it attractive to viewers.
It has to be engaging and able to seek the mindset of the reader.
Everyone has their interests at hand so it means you need to get their attention to make your point clear to them.
 
i did recommend youtube in another reply i gave to another question. Try it. people are omitting youtube from their marketing efforts but it is a real source of traffic and possible lead. i you do your homework well and get the video to rank you will be glad you did because your site will receive target traffic you you may be able to convert.

I will give a suggestion to you to build the website and promote through SEO, PPC, SEM, ORM. just joined differ groups on facebook, telegram, Linkedin etc. do affiliate marketing on another website. for ex. use trending sites. sure you will get the result on your website.
