How to Make People Trust an In-House Network

Good morning ladies and gents,

This is my first post. But don't worry, I read the rules, and won't make this an introduction post.

I just created my first serious attempt at an affiliate program. I haven't started promoting it yet though, because I have some concerns about its In-House nature. For a variety of reasons, I think In-House is the best solution, but I'm really worried about 40-50% of affiliates immediately dismissing it because of trust issues.

So my question is, is there a way to convince people that an In-House program is legit? Perhaps a certain payment structure or being tracked by an "affiliate police" type of service?

It would be neat to be tracked by some site where people can freely rate and discuss the program. I did a few searches for "Affiliate Monitor" and "Affiliate Police" but found nothing worthwhile. I think that would make for a cool website if anybody has some spare time.

Thanks for any help.

you should pay without any delays
pay more than it will be in cpa network
have ability to pay weekly wires
be willing to take some risks, have a test like 300 leads, not 30 before make assumptions on offer, and even then ask to change something, not just dump alltogether

You can convince people In-House program, you need to do timely payment, be able to pay weekly wires and take some risks...

Thanks guys. I had the program listed as NET 30 to start, and then weekly once we build a relationship. That approach eliminates my risk, but I wasn't thinking about the affiliate's perceived risk. I'll try switching it to weekly off the bat, and just be super intense about scanning for fraud.

And sorry, I meant to say "program" and not "network" in the title.

No one is going to trust a stranger right off the bat. It takes time to build trust. Be patient, but most of all be honest in your dealings and fair in dealing with people. The trust will grow.

Going to shows can't hurt.
You don't have to spend money on a booth, but get involved with what is going on and network. Face to face time is priceless.

With that said...
In the end, no matter what - Actions speak louder than words!

I work with many in-house platforms and their feel and userability ranges. Either way, if you pay for what you owe then you'll get the respect you need to grow properly.

Be active on the forums and help people out. Its the easiest yet most effective way to build trust in the community. The affiliate industry is much smaller than you think. People talk, and the word gets out rather quickly. If your a good guy, this works to your advantage....

Also - BRAND - let people see your name. The more people see your name, the more memorable you are and the more perceived trust you build.
