It's gutting to see this happen - you know it was a great tutorial, Mike and you know giving stuff out like this will only encourage oversaturation on the tubes.. Way to shoot yourself in the foot eh?
As Sleazy mentioned, Beta Brigade is a great place for newbies to learn, it gives you many tutorials like the one Mike stole and shows countless ways to make money as an adult webmaster. It's free to join but there is a 'boot camp' you've got to pass through (a few tasks to show that you can read and learn.. easy and shows you some great basics!). So if you liked the tut you read, you should consider joining to see what else BB has to offer.
Though the ethos behind beta brigade is to
work hard and network with each other and
not to steal ideas and pass them off as your own..It's all about becoming a successful webmaster whilst working as a team. It's probably the only place on the web I've come across which is like that and if assholes keep stealing things and making them public, chances are Beta Brigade will dry up or become totally private. Beta Brigade has helped me triple my income over the past few months, and well it's a rising figure...
People are made to wait after the boot camp for this reason.. The rules of BB are there to prevent stealing and to prevent assholes joining up and ruining it for everybody....
There's no need to start slagging members of BB off after you've stolen their ideas and been caught out... Don't be an asshole. You know that in any business reputation is very important, you don't want yours to be tarnished forever...
It wouldn't have killed you to refer those who want to learn to Beta Brigade, they even give out referral links (!!!) that way the folks here who were interested, would not only have benefitted from this tutorial but the wealth of other information and tuts available at BB.... There was no reason for you to do this.
I know you're better than that Mike, you should totally be apologising to Gareth and BB for your actions.
