Hi I am new to the forum and new to affilate marketing. I hopefully going to use one.com as a shared hosting site assuming this is okay. I read the FAQ part and it seemed to have domain name and shared hosting. I have never set up a website before.

I sell on ebay so have a retail background. Could you advise me on which easy package for marketing. I don't understand PHP or what ever else. I could use-

BANS is one where you don't have to build one for your website and can put affiliate numbers into a box easily. I fancy the Build a nice store concept (BANS).

How does ebay give you affliate numbers(how are the obtained) What is legal with this, eg would the seller no you were promoting him/her?

Also i'd prefer a easy to use program that allowed affilate reconciliation with many sites not just ebay.

Thats about it to start with.

Can you help? Many thanks!

Get a job as an AM first. That's what I did. At this point you have NO CLUE what your doing and no niche. Get after it donkey.

If you're used to ebay (god bless your heart for sticking with it...) try dropshipping. it doesn't even matter the quality of the goods. cause when selling on ebay, you can have pizza anytime.

...BANS means build a nice store?

wat

if you want to do affiliate work, look for a network on google or sum-sum. ebay's been pretty picky on how you can affiliate market on their system.

also, make a website. also also, do you think you're quite prepared to start something without studying on it? Is this how you prepare for your school tests, Billy?

I guess you should study first what an affiliate marketing is. Just hang on Affiliate marketing forums like this one, read more information available on the internet. If possible get some books by good marketers (Now how to judge that is really a question as you are absolute newbie. But I guess first logical step would be understanding affiliate marketing. Then apply for networks and build your sites with products.

Affiliate marketing is not very easy as most of the newbies think. You have to put efforts till you get the pace. All the best!

Cheers

What you are in is where the money is. Getting into something new is only going to limit the time you invest on eBay.

If you want to get into affiliate marketing realize that it will take you years to master your craft.

When I started I started with Mail Order.
From there it made some money but overall I lost money, so I went to eBay.
I made money - became power seller.
Then went the route of my own website.
Product disconinued so I focused on website.
1 year later no sales!

I learned IM. It took a few years to learn the stuff. Then you have the constant changes.

If you don't know much about IM my suggestion is to start learning basics. As you don't know much about PHP, im guessing new to FTP, etc, then it will be a very steep learning curve for you and no matter what you do - will take a few years.

Stick with eBay and invest an hour or as much as you can in learning affiliate marketing.

If you are thinking of getting people to sign up to eBay so you can earn an affiliate commision - it is not a wise thing as most people are already signed up to eBay - which is why eBay offers good comms for new signups.

Affiliate Marketing Requires:
1. An affiliate product - you generally have to sign up to a bigger network - eBay's affiliate option for selling products on eBay and earning comms when sales happen is interesting - but you will need good - good - very good traffic as they will only pay you within the margin of seller fees they collect - which even with hundreds of dollars of products will only come to a few dollars.

2. A web site.
Forget a free host, you will not have as much control of the site as you hoped for, especially if you want to put up a script - which I am guessing BAM is.

3. Marketing.
You can't put up a site and make money - it needs promoting. I often wonder what YouTube & FaceBook did to get all these people! It didn't happen by itself - atleast initially!

#3 is the most important aspect that will make and break things. It seems lucritive - it can be, but only with initial times of being as broke as a busker!

Anyways please remember the 3rd point. Step 1 and 2 is very easy and even could be done in a day if not a few hours, but #3 will be something that needs focus and attention every day.

Hi thanks for helping me as a beginner to affiliate marketing. I am sorry it took a while to get back to you. Currently I am on ebay as I work for myself with no employee's. Althouigh affiliate marketing could have been a thing I wanted to do it seems for now not so good. Doing both ebay and that would be to difficult. I am new to ebay and have been going 2 years. How do I promote my products best do you think ? A blog perhaps? I wanted them to click to ebay with either links or photo's midway through my article or at the end. I looked a ezine the main site for publishing articles by authors. I often notice they come up on google when searching for facts on the net. This is not really a blog as you know. They do have ezine blogs as a seprate thing though. Is blogging the best plan to get them clicking through to my auctions. I had hoped testing out the affiliate idea would first be a thing that would promote my own website and perhaps a pay per click as a less important thing. So affliating is not my prime concern at the moment.

A question for the future though in case I do do it- is networking finding which sites want an affiliate to promote them through 'each other'. Or have I got the concept of networking totally wrong. I could look it all up but have little time at present. I wanted to promote niche's 'as we all do' due to so many articles swamping your own other wise.

So two things-

1) How should I promote my ebay selling without spending to much, R blogs free commercially ?-I have never done one? and other ideas please. Many thanks.

2) What actually is Network affiliating, I touched on this in my research but could not figure it ?

BANS as I am not sure if you have heard of it , somone called it BAMS(different) so I thought I'd put a link here below. Its an easy system which makes the website with templates and has picture boxes , moveable to put pictures into. I have used photobucket but this is only for a photo not a link to an ebay shop page. Linking to a page with an with an easy link is easier than using photo's to to take you there. I often use the 'see other items link' as a list of products that people click too with in my auction ebay pages - without a photo to them. Any way by now I am making little sense no doubt. Here is the BANS link if you found this interesting or want to help me-

Build A Niche Store Website Builder Feature List

This in essence is how to use BANS practically but it explains what its about on the other above tabs. It seems to suggest on the internet this is the most widely used package but there is one that does both amazon and ebay which i cannot find. It avoids the site building and connects affilates simply by a code and apparently allows quick picture entry to designated boxes with flexability. Also it takes care of site maintenance and editing for more simplicity with doing this. I don't mind there set structure, some people would.

I had thought in the beginning in my un-wiseness that I could use it for promoting 'me first' and then as said above an hour a day doing something. If you read this link through and in fact its not that easy then PLEASE TELL ME that its not worth it ! I don't want to pay for the package if it does not make things 'quicker' or a free blog is better anyway. Maybe for now affiliating LATER could be the way to go. It makes a fasinating read at the very least if you have not come across it or cannot remember how it worked. No doubt BANS has evolved too in time. See the above link. It only does ebay-slight drawback

I have read a few articles here and there about affliate marketing but always come to a forum after some research.

Thanks all. I posted the same question on another affliate forum before and got no answers so thanks for being interested.

Cheers.

Reading all of the stickies at the top of each forum topic and then re-reading would be very helpful. Afterwards you will ask different questions. You will get better answers.

Lots of value in the stickies. I've learned a ton from trial and error. Has been expensive at times, but I am envisioning the long-term payoff -- totally worth fucking up in my short term investments.

Amazon has aStores

You can try Amazon too. If you don't have a website, they offer aStore, which you have to just promote. Its a quick start, and you will be selling for them.
