Why don't you just fly with a carry on and backpack? Save the fees and save at least an hour coming and going waiting at baggage claim. If you fly a lot like I do, it saves you a ton of time and money when you add it all up.

As for the rest, my experience is completely different.

But it might differ from airline to airline, or you just had some shit luck recently .

The prices are always dynamic, at least with the bigger carriers, and change depending on tickets already sold and time before departure, that's where most price differences come from.

Unfortunately, this doesn't always work.

First, usually you can't buy complicated tickets at the airlines' websites. For example, I soon fly with SAS onward and LOT backward. Which airline can sell me this ticket directly? I know only Lufthansa that doing this, that's all.

Second, not all airlines have an option of even simple open jaw in their sites. While they sell these tickets via agencies.

And third, often times the agencies and aggregators offer much better prices. For example, the last year I flew with SAS with a ticket bought at ebookers.at for 2/3 of SAS's price. Another example: I never ever seen on Austrian website the prices that won't be at least 1/3 higher than at agencies. And I fly with them often.

Unfortunately, it would take several hours for an airline. Post some ripoff reports or something - you just want to do something to make yourself feel better about the said rape. A few ripoff report articles off your chest and you'll be good to go.

One way ticket almost always costs almost the same as two ways ticket. And open jaw ticket, even with two different carriers, is the same as two ways ticket.

For example, this is my flight:

Now, let's try booking it separately at the airlines websites.

Forward:

Eur 204 = $283.

And of course they don't offer here this nice whole day stopover in Copenhagen, which my daughter and myself will enjoy so much.

Backward:

PLN 1106 = $367.

Total, 283+367=650, against 445 of the open jaw ticket. 1/3 more bro.

So i started yesterday with a post on their FB wall. No reaction.

Today i posted a tweet with a couple of nice hashtags in one of my "personal" accounts with a link to that FB post and retweeted that tweet from a few accounts with few tens thousands followers each. In a few minutes, that same rep called me on phone.

He apologized for a delay with this call during a couple of minutes and then he said that they investigated the issue and since AirFrance doesn't include baggage in this tariff bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla but as a goodwill gesture they offer me to cover 50% of the baggage cost of the said flight.

Being already pessimistic after all your hopeless replies, i thought - fuck it, i'll take 50%. I demanded to send me all the said as an offer to my email, and got this email in a couple hours. Now i'll pay for the baggage and send them an invoice, and they should credit my cc with 50%.

Worse than i hoped, but better than you guyz predicted.
