Whether it's browsing the internets, or doing work on it, how the fuck do you guys sit on your asses for so long?

I can't be in front of my computer for more than an hour at most before I want to throw my monitor out the window. And those of you that work behind a desk all damn day...how do you do it? I can wrestle bears and defuse a bomb but I cant sit down for more than a couple of hours without feeling horrible.

There are some days when I just have to sit down and "work" for hours and fuck, I want to stab myself. I guess it has to do with the fact that I can't stay in the same place for too long without getting agitated.

get a good chair and walk around often. i have a home gym and go in there when i feel antsy from sitting in one place for a while.

i was just thinking this. after 2 years of doing this it gets tough. most important is get an office to seperate work and home life. and i just hit the gym or lately the beach when i get antsy

If I'm really motivated/in the zone with programming or setting something up I can go for hours and hours without taking any breaks, but unfortunately that doesn't really happen too often for me. Lately I've been working for about 2 hours at a time and then going and doing something else for awhile- exercise, eat, clean, xbox, etc. When I worked for someone else in an office and wasn't free to customize my hours, I definitely felt the feeling of wanting to just throw the monitor/stab myself.

I have my chair wired with a car battery and every 2 hours it sends a shock to my ass... it is primitive but it gets me walking around more.

Yeah, same. There would be one day out of the month that I can work straight for hours without realizing it, but on the daily, it's more like "I just want to go outside."

Normally, I'd go outside for a run around the track to clear my mind or take a shower.

I think I'm gonna hafta seriously look into it. I don't mind the commute. Beats being in the same room all fucking day, I guess..

i get up and smoke some quality crack rock, run around the neighborhood 6-7 times screaming about demons eating my soul, then have a good nap. then it's back to work

hire a slut to suck dick while you work... helps you sit and concentrate....

It sounds like you have some ADHD problems like myself. Smoke some weed to calm down and focus, or get xanax from your doctor so you can calm down.

I havent gotten high in about 6 months or so, lately I've been working on AM while playing poker tournaments. I only play one tournament at a time, and since I'm good at multitasking its a relatively simple and quick process when the pokerstars window pops up and I click fold. Obviously I pay attention to the table when I'm actually in a hand.

It takes longer to get things done but it's been keeping me sane and I'm able to do this without fidgeting or getting bored for 12-15 hours or more whilst taking breaks to get snacks or food.

Its weird..im the opposite...I dont want to get up, I skip dinner most of the time..its like 90 degrees F. or 33 Celcious, or something like that, I live in a place with the hottest girls in Canada, beaches everywhere, and I sit on here...but love it...andI'm not even making bank...WTF?!

I stand up and walk around, stretch every hour or so. Go out on my balcony and have a cold drink and look at the scenery for a few minutes. I exercise an hour a day.

I also move between a couple of places in my apartment. I have a desk in my bedroom but sometimes I take my laptop to the kitchen table or living room sofa.

You just get used to it. I had a friend that worked in a grocery store for years (yeah, he wasn't that smart). He had to stand all day, then he got promoted to a desk job at head office and said he couldn't sit down all day because it hurt his back too much. It took him about a month to get used to it.

Me, when I'm consulting I can be 8 hours in front of the computer at a client site and then spend all night in front on my computer at home doing AM. That's at least 15 hours sitting in front of the computer per day, but I take short but frequent breaks.
