How much time do you spend managing a Linode setup?

So I am looking for a new box to host some smaller sites and I see that there is lots of praise for Linode around here. I have used managed solutions but I almost never had to speak to support, so I figured I might cut some costs by going unmanaged.

All I am going to do is install a bunch of smallish wordpress sites and I know more or less how to do it from the vpsbible.com videos on youtube, so I was just wondering how much actual "managing" there is to do after it is up and running.

Also does anyone know if Linode asks justification for 2-3 extra ip adresses?

After setting up the vps and installing a LAMP stack on it, i have done very little maintenance. Like adding virtualhosts entries for a new sites.

I had zero experience with unmanaged linux servers before, but the linode library is a great resource and if something didn't work i just googled how to fix it.

linode is the shit, hands down the best host for the price on the planet. Managed hosting blows 99% of the time

Linode's panels blow everything else I've used out of the water. My buddy even randomly IM'd me that this morning because he was excited about his new VPN service launching from it.

My only complaint with linode is the bandwidth isn't cheap as fuck. But then again, I use a lot of bandwidth
