How much does Directtrack cost on the network side?

I'm guessing 300-400k to build at the end of the day with a Ton of input and work. Which I just don't have time for right now unfortunately. Maybe in 6 months. :D

Triple the cost, twice the time, plus a team to maintain it.

If someone can take on DT you can make good money. A large network pay's low to mid $XX,XXX per month.

If you can create a stable, scalable platform thats robust and allows customization for individuals you can make high $XXX,XXX per year from networks on the DT platform. There would be no shortage of clients. I would be willing to help the right team to develop it and use the solution. I have used DT, and linktrust, and demo'ed hitpath. DT is still the best for our needs but a better system can be made.

This board has a lot of smart IT people who may not get AM, if you want to make a lot of money taking on DT might be a good move.

DirectTrack is very expensive, yeah. We had a custom job done, and its great. The ease of editing whenever needed is far better then the DT hassle.

I hope you mean that's the cost for writing it and keeping it up to date for 2 days and online with the hosting bills included!

That's a very very very high price for software.

I have no idea why people are using directtrack. I HATE it. I love Neverblue's platform but I guess they write it themselves

x2, but I hate the way everything must be linked to a site. That is the only downer.

Advaliant and Max Bounty have pretty nice fast and efficient systems too.

This makes me laugh. If you only knew the holes in some of the home grown networks. Put up a few affiliate networks tracking links and ill tell you all your stats on some of them. DT is secure. Put up your tracking links and ill prove it to you.

DT has its issues but so does every other piece of technology, someone bashed them years ago and those who want to be popular continue to bash them so they dont stand out against the grain.

DT has it's own holes too. you can easily see the revenue for the entire network just by altering the query strings a bit on a couple links

and i haven't really even looked for bugs on DT, i'm sure if i actually put some effort into it I would find plenty of other things as well.

Someone told me this but its not accurate, what you see isnt a real number and you dont know if its lifetime, monthly or daily.

However i can see your personal info in the holes in some non DT networks. even your SS # ;), and keep in mind i have no IT background, i am sure someone with some knowledge could probably find more.

This is starting to remind me of the good ole days where I could have stolen countless domains from people at RegisterFly just by guessing a username (2000, 2001 maybe?). That hole was open for months after I initially reported it...

not sure if it was the exact same one as the bug i found. the problem i found was an sql injection, so it probably would've been possible to add something like "where date > '2007-1-1' AND user=1" to filter out the results. it was a nice while back and I cant even remember the exact script it was on.

but yeah, likewise, the home brew ones tend to be a lot worse. once I signed up with the username "null". Out of the blue I started getting random checks in the mail, turned out I was being credited with leads/sales from surfers that went to the site without a referrer link. I sent em back and fixed it for em, but the fact that something so conspicuous could slip through is crazy.

Ok talked with Hitpath. The sales rep seemed totally uninterested in bringing on new clients. They wouldn't share any pricing she only said it was considerably more then Directtrack. I don' think I'd give this group of people a rusty nickel if it was up to me. The pompous arrogant attitude and the "oh well we can't tell anyone prices" was enough to turn me off for good.

i met those guys at leadscon and they were all snooty like that at their booth

The good thing about using a well known software like DT is that many use it so it's well known by publishers already, which can be an advantage. If there's holes in it, it's likely to get noticed and fixed promptly. If you had you own then most probably you would not even realise about the problem until it's to late.

There are also some other advantages of using a 3rd party software than your own also.

Hate to bring a semi-old thread up but I have to ask. This is the thread I came upon when using the "search" function :D
I have noticed from being in my DT panel all day refreshing, that it is down numerous times for a good 4-5 minute period. My question is, Are all stats counted during this time? Im not going to name which cpa network it is because its not their fault (no, its not the one in my sig). This has been bugging me the last few days after noticing it.
I fear the answer if I was to open a support ticket with DT only to hear "Them" say that all stats are fine.......If you know what I mean.
