Six digits per month for almost 2 years. SEO - not PPC.

Put most of it into a tax-deferred retirement fund which crashed along with the market two years ago. Then the aff program stopped, and I had to liquidate what was left of the fund to live on. As a result I also lost the tax deferrment and now owe more in taxes than my house is worth.

Lesson learned: choose your wealth manager carefully if you are serious about AM.

The lesson learned should be become as knowledgeable as you are Am as you are about the capital markets and investing.

Become your own money manager.

Clyde I am only making a couple thousand/mo. because it just launched.

It is different this time because the previous one was widget-based and grew virally to over a hundred thousand blogs, getting around 300 million views per month.

That is a real good tip I could give everybody; come up with a free service that other people will want to put on their site. Embed your ad in there. This way, you don't have to worry about SEO or PPC.

I did not know about WickedFire at the time, but I did hear about how much you could make in AF. The task was to come up with something original and useful that would distribute itself. As we all know, a few years ago widgets were the way to go.

Then the AF network went belly up. Like an idiot, I concentrated on preserving the money I had made, rather than restarting the project. That wasted a year. Then it took me another year to 1. Come up with another good idea 2. Build it. Why did this take so long? Emotional distress watching all the money go away, and worry that you are getting closer and closer to being out of money and out of work in the worst economy since the depression. But don't get me started on Liberals.

I should have had a Plan B already in mind the whole time. Even better, it should have been up and running in parallel. That one mistake totally wiped out my whole retirement, in addition to the market crash etc.

My new project requires SEO. I really didn't want to go that route because of the time involved. But the idea is good. Also I have to thank WickedFire for introducing me to the Prosperent network which makes the idea work better, and also would have made me a ton more money back in the day. Prosperent is basically Adwords with several times the earnings.

The new project is generated sites, but executed to the last detail. Sites that stand up to human review. One thing you will notice in all auto-generated sites is that they look like garbage and read worse. This can be solved.

I've only been on WF for a month but can tell many people here are not interested in quality at all. They want to get this or that spamming tool and will bust their heads against the wall getting it to work.

All you gotta do is approach it like it is a real product/service business. Then integrate ads with it. Everybody here can come up with a realy cool, creative idea for something that solves a problem. My widget did that and made literally millions because it was free, solved a problem, was easy to use, and ad-supported.

I want to give some better detail and organization:

1. First come up with a service that will be useful.
2. Then monetize it with advertising.
3. If you are too embarrassed about it to mention it to your wife or gf, you need another idea.
4. No idea? Think of something on the Web that pisses you off or wastes your time. Then come up with a solution for it.
5. The solution is so good and helpful that you could even charge for it.

As an example I just started using Red Virus. Amit figured out that most of us would rather catch VD than sit and do backlinking. He is likely making more money than most everybody here, and he might not even be involved in affiliate marketing.

If Amit was scraping sites all day he would still be as poor as the rest of us. But he took suggestion #4 above.

Most of you guys could be up in a month with your own cool service, and the only thing keeping you from doing it is that you are not totally sure it will work. Well, it will work if you find out what people don't like about it, improve it and slap some ads on there.
