here's how the gov can create jobs. Make it way too expensive to buy anything from China. Bring manufacturing back to the us. Tax chinese goods out of existence. Drive up inflation in China by printing tons more dollars and pump them into china. make it too expensive to produce crap in china.

they could also harden our electrical infrastructure, fix our bridges & highways, harden our cyber security, prepare our citizens for the trouble that's coming.

You haven't thought that position out very far, have you? So you're basically saying we should create and enforce a trade embargo on... Ourselves?

Not only would China be a bit peeved (understatement in the extreme implied) but the price of your everyday shit is going to fucking skyrocket for the 5 years or so that it will take to create the factories to produce them again over here.

So for five years we're going to be facing hostility from the east while you and I can't afford small things like forks, iphones, and pencil sharpners without getting a loan... But whoops! China holds all our money so fuck that idea...

Basically it is taunting the East into WWIII at the same time it is playing with an Extreme Depression, far worse than 1929's.

Just imagine what the Red Party heads are going to think when they turn on cspan and see Obama and Congress slugging it out over how & when to set up this self-embargo...
