I'm new to this whole affiliate marketing thing and I just recently saw all the potential there is but I never knew you could make money by flipping domain names. How do you actually go about doing it and creating value to the domain name?

its simple, you buy a good domain for cheap and sell for a lot. you can flip it without doing anything to add value. you dont have to put a website on it or anything. the hard part is knowing which domains are good and have value and which ones are worthless.

There are lotsa ways to flips domains. Some buy already high-price domains and add more value to them, some register new domains and try making them into a profitable site, then flip them for maybe 1 year worth of profits. If you want to do this you gotta start small, register domains yourself then build a blog that makes maybe just 5 or 10 bucks on adsense a month. If you get lucky you can actually flip these small sites (or even blogger blogs) for 150 or more.

Curious. how do you add "value" to a domain? do you put content on the site? work on its SEO, build links, wait until it ranks on google or gets a PR? does traffic add value to the domain that you sell? thanks for answering my questions. :)

The "honest" way to do it would be to build up a real site with say 10 pages of original content, get it some good solid links and wait until the next Google PR update happens and hope you get it some decent PR (3 or higher is perferable). You can then put it up for sale on flippa or similar and the PR alone will get you a good ROI.

Better if you can prove say 3 months of adsense earnings - you can realistically ask for 10-20x the monthly earnings.

The "dishonest" way to do it is to be a total asshole and 301 a PR4 or PR5 domain to it, wait for the new domain to show the PR and flip it to some unsuspecting noob. Why do I mention this? Its not that I condone it, in fact its pretty crappy, but just so that you're aware that it happens.

See which domains are getting the most interest on "backorder" websites and join the auction. Grab undervalued domains there and approach end users directly.

Adding "value" to the domain implies building out a website and revenue stream on it, which is different than just flipping domains.

It's all about the name and directing any type of traffic to it. Once you have it in your hands, continue to purchase the similar domains until you have a bundle of them. The Internet only has so many ".coms" and you can have appraisals done for free or at least through GoDaddy, they offer certified price ranges.

The main thing is how to find a good domain name and you should have good selling skills, you should know the ways of selling as there are many ways of selling domain names and they are getting competitive as the time passes..

Just listed my website on Flippa. I need some tips to make the listing better. There are a few sellers on Flippa that get up to $2400- per sale while mine are fetching like 10% of that if I'm lucky. How do they do it?

Looks like you're doing great!
