lol @ you if you aren't using it

This looks pretty good, but for me my biggest hurdle is that I've been using cPanel since forever. If I were to switch, what would be some things that I should know?

what is best hosting company after hostgator , what happen today is big shame my site is down for more than 3 hours.
any one of you who have the same problem ask refund from hostgator because they guarantees %99.99 (%.01 downside ) and if you calculated it 3 hours downside make it %.4 so should i have refund !

you can has $.07 refunds for shame of 3 hours down. you can no has full months refunds if you calculated you only downside %.4 so you should have refund prorates

Yea I moved anything I care off of Hostgator and now waiting for my stuff to die with them before I move. They have gotten noticeably worse since being bought out.

Hostgator owns Asmallorange though which I'm a big fan of.

Recommended hosts (and what other people have been saying in this thread):

  • Liquid Web (vps)
  • Knownhost (vps)
  • Asmallorange (cheap small single sites - warning: still owned by HG)
  • Eleven2 (shared)
  • Digitalocean (vps - never used them on my own sites but have worked with them)

Edit: Does anyone have a replacement for small cheap client sites or whatever instead of Asmallorange?

why you don't count the traffic i lost in this hours and sure how much earning i lost

i was in the same boat, switched the other day and so far its been worth it even as a usually non-techy guy. they've got detailed tutorials for everything i've needed to do so far, try googling [term]+digital ocean for anything essential beforehand

Theres not a cat in hells chance that they will compensate for lost earnings.
It would only amount for 2 sales anyway, right? :moon:

Yes that is sarcasm.

Wow again? I would have never known that they went down if I hadn't checked this thread and checked my stats to confirm.

This is ridiculous. August 2nd was the worst of all when they were moving and it down for that Friday and Saturday. EIG really screwed us all. I was a customer since 2004 and this year I've had 4 downtimes already when I only had 3 small occurrences in the 9 years prior.

Hostwinds. They gave a couple of years of free hosting for accidentally messing up one of my sites .

1) Read one of the many recent WF threads filled with horror stories about HostGator.

2) Keep using HostGator.

3) ??? (this is what your former customers are thinking when they can't pull up your site)

4) Start WF thread with your HostGator horror story.

I left Host Gator when their chat support wait time grew to be more than an hour! anyways glad that I moved my client sites to Grid a couple of months back and could not be any more happier.

I have a fully managed dedi running WHM/cPanel with Liquid Web for $160 a month. You can get cheaper hosting elsewhere, but I don't mind paying a little more knowing that there's someone I can call on 24/7 to do pretty much whatever I need.

I've had the server for two years now and I've had them help migrate my own and client sites from other hosting, assign more IPs (I can have up to 16 included in the price with this box), install SSL certs, restore sites from backups, and they've helped troubleshoot issues with WordPress and OpenCart including a hacked WordPress site. Pretty much everything I've asked of them they've done even if they don't officially support some of the tasks they've taken care of for me.

Trouble tickets are usually dealt with in 10-15 minutes while phone calls are answered immediately by tech support sat in their facilities. I have no complaints and would recommend them to anyone looking for a hosting solution.

I couldn't even imagine going with someone like Hostgator. That's like buying fake, processed chicken instead of the real stuff.

I have a dedi with xlhost.com for $250/month, and am happy with them. It's quite overkill in terms of specs for what's currently on it, but one less thing for me to worry about. Not sure about the quality of their support though. They respond quickly, but not sure how helpful they are. Then again, they may be just because I've never really asked for their help, and they've never offered it.

My experience with them/him was pretty negative, was around the time they launched (on here). Peter behaved unprofessionally, hopefully he's chilled out now.

I always go with offers from webhostingtalk when Im purchasing hosting plans, much cheaper and most of the time their customer service is top notch as smaller companies threat you with more respect.
