Holy shit I'm almost broke

my online store is struggling like a mofo... but i finally made a profit again today from AM, the first in a couple of months. The thing that bothers me about it is its only because of the exchange rate..

I spent $300AUD on adwords and made $260USD, which is about $390AUD. not happy.. more tweaking is called for. I feel so dirty and unsatisfied just profiting from the exchange rate difference.

There's never any point in sulking about it, just crank more campaigns.
 
I'm 15 and it's oh shit for me right now.
Although it hasn't affected me that much, it's more of a "Oh shit if this economy keeps heading to hell.."

If you're 15 it's never a true "oh shit", mom and dad have you covered.
 
right now i have work and i have work lined up. but im more worried about some of my family members, hell my dad might have to close his printshop for a month or two, the customers just arent there right now. and i feel bad for his employees. where i live you can really start to see the "oh shit" happening. 4 of my neighbors lost there houses because they were layed off. it sucks.
 
Try to diversify what your doing.

Have you tried EPN?
If you're PPC, have you tried SEO? Visa Versa? Social Media?

Emailing?
Consulting?
Adsense?
SEM company?
writing?
Designing?
Directories?
Domaining?

Soooo many ways to make money on the internet. When times are rough and what you know isn't working, try out some new things...
 
Back in September when it became really obvious how much shit was hitting the fan, my business picked up. I started writing for more clients, and picked up a virtual assistant gig. Maybe not the big money like is available on the actual marketing end but it felt pretty good at the time.

Then I moved to St Louis and people I would meet at at a bar would tell me how they were losing their jobs, after 10-15 years at the same place, with no similar jobs available anywhere in the metro area. I just didn't feel like telling them, "Man, my business picked up just as soon as everything started going to shit!"

I dunno, I'd say the opposite. When times are tough, cut down and stick to what you do best and go for the sure money. When things are going well, that's the time to take risks and expand.

But if what he did best was still working, i assume he wouldn't be almost out of money.....

I agree with you assuming that what you do best still works. If not, time to explore...

Exactly. Lots of options out there. I keep telling myself if I can manage to do decently in this economy, once things pick up again I should be killing it.

Keep your head up, be smart & work your ass off.
