Yea it was pretty horrible, he's no Reagan or Kennedy. I could make a joke right now about poor quality and Indian outsourcing, but i'm gonna keep this thread classy. :party-smiley-004:
 
If you lived in Louisiana, you'd understand why he talks like that. There are seriously some stupid fucking people down here, and he has to talk like that in order to get his point across. However I do agree he did sound a little retarded in that video.
 
And I should point out that I'm only surprised because I've been hearing about how great of a speaker this guy is on Hannity, Ingraham, etc... for months now and never bothered to look up any videos of him. They must all be smoking the same shit, because that guy suuucked.
 
He talked at my high school graduation and was pretty good. But maybe it was because my friends and I were shit faced haha... But really, he is a pretty decent speaker, and a pretty good governor. I have no complaints thus far.

Yep, that's exactly what I thought. Reminded me of watching a film in grade school. I kept thinking we are worried about the economy and this dufus is telling me his life story. No way he is going to be prez.
 
I have learned from this recent presidential debaucle that a politician shouldn't be judged from thier teleprompter skills alone.
 
This guy was on the today show this morning. I thought he was pretty well spoken and not so smoozi politicianish.

I will say though, it wigs me out to hear an person of Indian descent speak with a Louisiana accent.
 
Ha! I had that on last night and my boyfriend walked by and asked if it was a SNL skit. It could have been worse, but was definitely reminiscent of those films they played in grade school.

Sub - I'm not sure where you got the idea that people have been talking about his orating skills. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm a member of the VRWC, and I've heard nothing about his great speech making abilities, but I have heard about the amazing things he's been able to do in LA in a short period of time.

IMAO, his speech was fantastic. If you actually listened to what he was talking about, you might have a different opinion. Was it the most amazing speech in the whole world? Of course not, but it wasn't supposed to be.

I would have thought more WF members would be on the side of free market economy and freedom, and thus have a more positive review of the speech. I guess I was wrong.
 
Very few in the GOP actually support anything resembling a free market economy or freedom, and the few that do seem to support <50% freedom, at best. I am not that familiar with Jindal, but he seems to be just another social-con nut to me. His record on oposing tax cuts doesnt work in his favor either.

The GOP is very good at free market rhetoric when the Dems are in power. That's about it. I seem to recall that many Republican "leaders" pretty much ostracized their free-market colleagues after the 1994 Revolution and again when GWB became the big government President.

As a former long time republican voter, I have to say that I completely agree with you. Here's to getting a Libertarian candidate in office in the next 20 years.

He sounds like Al Gore....

But i've heard him on other interviews before and he actual;ly sounded good. Just a chilled out dude making a point. Not sure why he decided to go all Al Gore for that speech and pretend like he was talking to little kids...
