I am new to SEO, but not new to making money online.
I have been lurking the forum for a few days now since i was approved for membership. Things i have attempted to do was absorb information that is already here, and also become acustomed to this very vital online community
I am a former mailer, i activly mailed since 96 -> 2005. so when it comes to that subject i am very expierenced But i no longer mail in any way shape or form. I was very active on many mailing forums, and i would go by the same handle as here Huile. aka David. I am making note of my handle because i have spent many years talking with people and conducting fair, honest and reputable business practices. I attempted to stay very active in the mailing community and produced a few things that only select people received. Me and my programmer have been partners for about 6 years or so. and we work very well togehter.
My programmer has expierence in VB VB.NET PHP PERL SQL JAVA AJAX.
I have expierence in PHP and an unamed scripting language which handles web bassed protocalls. so i have a understanding of programming, but no where would i call myself a programmer, but i have produced a few good scripts that make life easy. which i will most likley be posting on the forum in attempts to help someone out if i get a chance to clean them up a bit more.
I have been doing seo for almost 1 year now, but in my opninion, you are still newbie at anything unless you have done it for 2-3 years. I spent the first 3 months of SEO in just taking in information, in attempts to determine what was fraudulent, media hype, and also including mis direction which i have noted from a few people attempting to safe guard their trade secrets. I cannot blame them for trying, and i am sure for the most part they make good money doing it, but then again what the fuck do i know. After that we started development and deployment of a scraper type system. My system has the base elements of a scraper system, but that is where the similiarities end.
The scraper system is just the spammer in me coming out. In attempts in throwing a bunch of shit at a wall to see what sticks, i have learned allot. My scraper sites do ok, i feel that they could be better. We have employed some advanced tracking methodology, to help piece together what is going on, how search engines react to specific things, such as linking schemes, googlebomb implimentation and effects, SE content absorbtion, indexing probabilities, Implimentation of keyword saturation bennefits/drawbacks, advanced cloaking methodoligies, and a number of other things. I am currently putting efforts to the re planning a new system, that is going to incorporate what i have learned.
I will be placing a question on the newbi section a little later tonight.
THe topic of my question will be niche identification, methodology, and planning.
If you ever want to ask me a question feel free. i may be new to SEO but i am not new to the online world and i have lots of good information.
So if anyone from anywhere else has made their way into seo from the spam game i would love to hear from you.
