Every time I submit a support ticket I get some copy/paste reply that is only slightly related to my issue/problem and does not help solve the issue in any way. Shitty outsourced support. Or am I just unlucky?
Call them. I only needed their support once, when I was traveling and registered a domain, so my credit card triggered their fraud systems. Was solved in 5 mins.
Then again, I don't use domain registrars for hosting, because that'd just be really fucking stupid.
To clarify - I do not use them for hosting either, its a domain issue.
Something wrong with authorization codes - transfered many domains and 2 of them got canceled due to wrong codes. Tried again - canceled again. Basically they hold my 2 domains hostage because of wrong codes. Raised support ticket and got some copy/paste answer of how to get an authorization code (which I know since I transfered hundreds of names already).
Registrar I am transfering to suggested that I should ask godaddy to generate new EPP codes and synchronize them with the Registry.
I've gotten support that runs the gammut. From stellar support above and beyond that which a hosting company should provide to support that if I listened to would have crashed sites lol. Main thing, like above, get em on the phone. If the person you're talking to doesn't know what they're talking about either hang up or cut em off and ask for supervisor.
Just did that with email support, issue solved.
I do not have many issues with domains, maybe once in a year. So during last 6 or so years I raised only 5 tickets. Usually it goes the same way:
1. I submit ticket
2. They reply with some copy/paste hardly relevant shit
3. I get a bit mad and ask for a human and not a bot response
4. Second time they send me human response and issue solved.
So every time there is one "bot reply" step before you get real support answer
