haiti earthquake

There is no reason that you can't create something, establish rules (eg natural laws) and then just let it run its course.

But we can all speculate on this stuff forever. The only sure thing is that no one really knows.

We are only guests here on good ol' Mother Earth. We're the retards that build city's on land that's 50 feet below sea level and then wonder why it gets wiped away in a flood. We build homes and buildings on major fault lines and then are in shock when an earthquake levels everything. It's horrible what has happened to these people in Haiti, and I'm not discounting what they're going through, but Earthquakes, floods, tsunami's, volcano eruptions, etc., we can't stop that shit. These natural events were happening millions of years before we got here and will happen until our sun consumes itself. The Earth will inflicts it's wrath without thought or care of what harm it causes us humans.

Oh and I live in Southern California, so I'm one of the retards also. When California breaks off at the San Andreas fault and falls in to the Pacific, I wont' be stunned or blame the devil for that matter. However, you can't live your life in fear of these things, so I'll take the sunny weather, ocean and earthquakes all in stride.

how can you say that? I can start a ball rolling down a hill, bouncing around as it hits stones. Doesn't mean that I intervene in its path while it's going.

A god that started everything (including even laws which govern the environment) is no more of an interventionist than you are over an ant farm you built and watch on top of your desk.

Now if you are talking about who is ultimately responsible for shit like the earthquake in haiti, thats another matter. Doesn't mean there is present intervention.

If you created the rocks, the hill, the ball (including everything about the ball down the its materials and the humans who made it), the physics that would determine the path of the ball rolling down the hill, and everything else, then that changes the picture. I would say your presence and what you do at any given moment has everything to do with how the ball rolls down the hill.

There's always a present intervention if an all-mighty creator created every attribute of everything in existence, such as the behavior patterns of a ball bouncing down a hill or the instincts of ants that eat leaves and shit to survive. Or a planet with shifting plates that happens to accidentally some of its inhabitants.

The way I see it, the allowance of all things good and bad is a form of intervention in the hands of an almighty, all seeing God.

The events in Haiti are very sad. Let's take nothing away from that. But, let's get several things straight. In case everyone forgot, the Best Nation on earth is going bankrupt while fat cat wallstreet bankers rape America and collect their bailouts. Our president is going to look like a shining star when he commits our TAX dollars to helping out Haiti...in the billions, you can bet on it(Of course this is all planned out by the G.E.) Just think about it for a while.....This asshole has spent more money (trillions) than our Country has spent since it first became a FREE REPUBLIC - Well over 300 years it took to spend the same amount this shithead has spent in under 1 year. And, fuck now he will commit to spend more. FIRE UP THE PRINTING PRESS BERNANKE - Weeze abouts ta give out some mo federal dough, my nukka. Hellz yah, Im da baddest president evuh.

When has it become the sole responsibility of the United States to be the caregiver/nanny of the world. When is it Russia's turn, Switzerland's turn, Germany's turn, fuck - anyone else's turn to run and help and commit dollars?? Our country is headed into a tailspin and most are ignoring it. This type of jump up and dash over to keep help everyone else out is causing our own ship to take on water and sink. Im sure other nations will help out BUT - it will be dwarfed in comparison by the measurement of our SUPER HELP EFFORTS.

This goddamned president is going to be the death of our Country. We gotta wake up all the sheep! I'm all for sending Haiti some dollars but for fuck's sake - I hope the US doesnt commit troops to police Haiti, as well as, Billions of dollars that we will borrow from China and the FED (basically, print worthless money) to help out a place that was erected on top of a major fault line.

We are gonna keep sticking our nose into other people's affairs, so much, that it will be the demise of the last FREE NATION on earth, and then who is gonna come over here to help us out?

NOBODY - MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

Bring the troops home
End this stupid ass war based on false flag terror and the heroin trade
Get rid of this president - Impeachment
Smaller government
No more NANNY STATE

now I need to go smoke a fat assed joint and check my campaigns....goddamnit.

I might be sounding like an atheist asshole here, but:

some people believe in a non-interventionist God.

Whats the point of him then? So hats off to the man that created everything we see around us, but, surely hes not really living up to his full potential?

Why would I want to worship someone who basically worked his ass off for a week then decided to slack off for all eternity?

Maybe it's because we have a Pres who gives a shit about black people for a change?

Unlike Pat Robertson, et al who are still blaming the Haitians for being devil worshippers. Christian, my fat, hairy ass.

Anybody else remember post Katrina when Barbara Bush visited N Orleans and said, quote that this whole thing "has worked out quite well for them?" She meant in her twisted reptilian way that, since the people were dirt poor before, but NOW they were getting shelter and food, that it was a WIN/WIN for them.

What makes you think it had anything to do with black people, there were a whole lot of white people that got hurt during Katrina as well? It's not like Katrina was a black only disaster or I'm going out on a limb here but I bet the majority of people affected by Katrina weren't African American.

Leveling the race card and insinuating Bush was intentionally negligent in disaster relief because a fair number of the people needing help were black is pretty cheap. Especially without any evidence to back up your statements.

Its determinism, not intervention.

it will be the demise of the last FREE NATION on earth,

Oh give it a fucking rest. Next time you take a drug test to get a job; think about what you just said. If you're really so free, how come corporations have a say in what you do in your personal time?

Also I would love to hear how all the other democracies in the world are not free....

I haven't seen it, I have never tasted it, I never felt it, I can't see it, and it doesn't speak to me.

Therefore it doesn't exist and I don't need it anymore.

Goodbye Oxygen.

...and goodbye cruel cruel world.

P.S. On a serious note I take Einsteins stance (arguable) towards a higher power which you guys are arguing about. I don't believe in a personal God, but rather an impersonal one.

Just an idea, but I think there should be a booth at ASW where people can donate. I know we can donate at a ton of places, i personally donated $500 today to red cross. Since ASW is known to be the event of the year for our industry, it could be something really special.

In the case of Katrina, Blanco DID NOT WANT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN THE STATE!

States actually have to request federal help, which did not happen for 3 days after Katrina.

Our response to the indonesian disaster was not much different than our help to Haiti, and just like then, the rest of the world is complaining that we're doing "Too Much" and not letting other countries get involved (When the fact is we're just quicker than they are , and don't require 100 meetings to get anything done).

In the case of Katrina as well , the power of the hurricane was known , it was also known what would happen in the event of a level 5 hurricane on the city. Blanco and Nagin were both negligent to ask for help prior to the emergency, knowing beforehand the toll that the city and region would take.
