My site is about local events but I also send entertainment news in spanish. Right now it's geotargeted for my country. I still get people for other places but it's less than 20%. I don't see much growth and only sometimes get huge spikes in traffic, but most of the time it's flat. I see most of my local competitors appearing in the Google.com SERP but not mine.

Here's my question: Should I continue using Google Webmaster Tools geotargeting or should I just make my site international and try all spanish language instead of focusing on my region??

My guess would be that 500 PHd's and 30 billion a year turnover is not going to buy you an accurate understanding of what your sites about.

Go ahead and change that WMT's account that Google already had 100% of the data on.

What's herp derp in Spanish?

it's a digital newspaper about events in my town, since it's a daily news site, I also add movie & music news.

The thing is I get a ton from google.com instead of google.com.mx even some south american newspapers have sent me traffic, even when my site is "local" to me, that's why I was wondering how I should focus it in GWT...

I went and change it, I'll update what happens later. Most people don't know or don't care about sites not in english, let's experiment.
