Their logic is flawed. They'd actually have to rank for something for a penalty to have an impact.

I got some of these warnings myself but no drops in rankings yet for whatever reason. Been like 5 days.

I got a notice on 8/30,the offending links were from an Uber Secret Russian Invitation Only Network, but still have seen no real decrease in traffic. Looks like its a link at a time penalty.
 
I've seen several sites plummet from them recently. All except one were from competitors that I keep a close watch on.

Be cool it's coming, Google is enjoying a well deserved vacation. Why people worry about PR updates and Backlink notices, Matt Cutts is drinking Sea Breeze at the beach.

Promise, as soon as he gets back, everyone will get what they're expecting and deserving.

Thanks for the warning. I'll start filling out job applications now. If only I hadn't put all my eggs in one basket...
 
Google doesn't have to put manual penalties out there all they need is a couple whiney faggots to rat out the whole network. Its pretty simple and that's why blog networks like this don't work what the hell do you think the disavow tool is

That is usually how they discover blog networks, through the complaints of the websites you're out ranking. SEO rats are now every-where and the big boys play very dirty.
