Good Photoshop tutorials or "class"?

It's hard to find a good overall photoshop tutorials. A lot of tutorial sites are based around how to do certain effects and design tips. I wish I could find a site that would just teach about all the photoshop tools and give examples of what they can do so it would be easier to understand what the thought process is behind most of the tutorials.

very few sites are providing free tutorials. advanced level tutorials are not free. if any on know any site which is providing advanced level photoshop tuts. please do tell here.

I gained my basic knowledge of photoshop by following a single tutorial on how to make forum signatures. IMO, this (or something similar) is the best way to learn, because if you go for "photoshop tutorials" I figure it'll be something like "Photoshop tutorial: SHADOWS!" and it'll have a 70 minute video on shadows. With the forum sig tutorial I got a basic gist of everything and if I want a more detailed explanation of a particular thing, I can just go look it up.

as a designer/artist who has 10+ years experience w/ photoshop, i can say no amount of "photoshop classes" will make you a good designer. anyone can learn how to use a tool... putting it to use... not so much.

true, but sometimes in life its better to be able to copy and/or alter the images that "good designers" create and for this Photoshop tutorials are very helpful
