I don't agree that there will be something else like rebills and it will be like the Wild Wild West again. Internet regulation will only get tighter...

EDIT: But I'm not sure, haven't been in paid traffic that long.

i remember when to get on buy viagra i had to loose way less efforts and bank way more than now.
time changes but its good. would be boring if all was static

Was just thinking back to 2 years ago when I first started rebills. I was in Boston with Copeac (Ryan Wilson & Jeff) at dinner for Aff Summit.

Remember this dinner well, good times and yes that trip was right around the time everything rebills blew the fuck up. It was running already for a bit but nothing to the degree of what was to come :) Good times man and things have certainly changed but something else is coming 100%, I'm damn sure of it. There are too many smart guys in this game and collectively something will be uncovered in the scramble.

My guess is mobile will be insanity once a universal (itunes like) mobile payment system that requires only a password to purchase is in place which I know several companies are working on as we speak. Few other things also I think might be the next to take off but I have no doubt something will. People said this after ringtones and look what went on with rebills after that!

dude, i fully agree with you. I feel wickedfire should be an instrumental part of some sort of revolution within the industry (or at least for ourselves)... maybe a new subsection is due where at least the remaining smart people of this forum can brainstorm.
There are so many fucking ways to leverage AM knowledge into physical and not-so-physical industries which are quite fun actually. I've privately discussed some of them with people on this forum before since I see people in the perfect position to step right into them, but most responses were like "ehh no, that's not my thing" -- a shame, but understandable. They are not strictly 'marketing jobs' , after all. They are standing mainstream industries where marketing is only the tool of expansion, not the purpose. It really does confirm how 'behind' (??) people in the AM scene are, when it comes to personal, straight corporate management. I know people who've been doing $50k/month since 2006 with $30k startup capital. I see affiliates earning $10k/day but going broke 3 months after their ppc accounts are banned. It's a Crazy thing.

PS: no - it's not porn/shadiness/anything core-marketing/gambling etc! Imagine I told you how and where to begin a Diamond exporting business and which clients are available at immediate notice.

LOL @ Never seen so many penises in my life, i started out with AFF also, and i did some ewhoring i learnd from bhw... literally almost threw up from all those dicks

Two years ago I was a seventeen year old who had no idea what internet marketing was. I happened upon the miracle of being accepted into Friend Finder, and I tried my hand at e-whoring.

Never seen so many penises in my life.

I'd rather forget the good old days and focus on the progress that I'm making, with some bigtime help from this forum.

Thanks, guys.

Edit: 300th post.

Yes something else will come along and we have all learned a shitload which we can use towards other business now. I was just saying that what we saw the past 2 years was something that doesn't come along that often.
Classic example of how going to the shows and networking helps. Don't be a dick to your AM, they take alot of shit. Having a good relationship with guys in the industry and your AM is in my mind the most important part of the business. Everything we do is easily copied...you want your AM and "industry buddies" to think of you as soon as they see something blowing up. That way you can hope on the train and make monies! You also want your AM and "industry buddies" to keep their mouth shut when you find something good!

Met Wayne that night as well, see his post above. Back then he was more secrative than the CIA!

Remember we went to that club that was underground (forget name) after the dinner and got absolutly smashed! Good times!

As someone who has been around for a while now.... The best piece of advice you can learn from this situation is when you find something that works... SHUT YOUR FREAKING MOUTH! Just keep it to yourself and bank off of it for as long as you can. As soon as you tell one person, it will spread like wildfire.

I think each new "explosion" will be shorter than the last so you need to bank of it as much as you can before everyone else jumps on it.

When working, I spend 90% of my time trying new things in ways that nobody else is doing. Although these 'creative' ideas flop 95% of the time, the 5% makes it more than worth it.

I know who came up with both. Both are people on this forum and one you still see his stuff everyday. It's no big well known members and funny enough they're arch enemies and hate each other. But for legality reasons I'm going to keep quiet with names.

HA, Jason I just seen this and had to have a good laugh.

Kinda strong wording on the arch enemies thing there, I dont hate anyone really, was all good times and fun and we all made some serious cash.

Dan / Kair0s, you got any comments man?

I agree with you on this point.

I also think we follow a trend of up and down cycles for sure with niches and the "next big thing" before rebills was ringtones, and before that it was YPN and arbitrage.. in the midst of it all there was smaller ups and downs like IQ, grants, etc.

Shit get big, rules change, things die out, and then something else big comes out eventually. Just keep innovating and changing things up for the better.

Well from my knowledge Jason Brown came up with that idea. You guys didn't know that?

There will always be something. The majority of AM's didn't do any rebill, ringtones, or email submits, and still made a living.

Huge rushes of money are great, but it's the long term that counts. There's a reason it's the same group of people at these shows every year.

Go get your brains cranking for iPad and readers content and apps. They're the next big thing. Content, content, facilitated by easier payment methods and this broadband initiative being rolled out soon.
