I taught myself html back when I was in high school....straight notepad coding and I even created and hosted a site...but I didn't know shit about advertising or anything and just let it go as time passed. Anyways I need a thorough refresher, and I also need to learn some CSS and PHP. I am really comfortable with languages (C++, C, etc) so I wouldn't call myself a complete newbie, but I definitely need to re-learn a lot.

So what are some good books/free websites on html, css, php, and other things that will be useful for creating great looking websites?

BOOKS

PHP:
Programming PHP by Rasmus Lerdorf, Kevin Tatroe, and Peter MacIntyre

PHP & SEO:
Professional Search Engine Optimization with PHP: A Developer's Guide to SEO by Jaimie Sirovich (Author), Cristian Darie (Author)

CSS:
HTML Utopia: Designing Without Tables Using CSS by Rachel Andrew (Author)

WEBSITES

PHP:
W3Schools
PHP.net

CSS:
W3Schools
Eric Meyer

Also - I've always found cheat sheets handy, these ones in particular:
CSS Cheat Sheet

PHP Cheat Sheet
mod_rewrite Cheat Sheet
Regular Expressions Cheat Sheet
