I hate their checkout process too, but godaddy is where average people buy domains, and you are not the average guy. If you work with websites and any monetization methods you are different from 99% of the others. You don't behave the same way in front of ads, banners, forms etc.

People buy what you tell them to buy, especially if the recommendation comes from a trusted site like godaddy.

Agreed man but that still doesnt explain why the hell Godaddy is selling, people will always need domains especially internet marketers and business owners and Godaddy is many of those peoples number one source if they are not smart enough to go get a domain name cheaper somewhere else.
