Gaming Facebook. This is on a whole new level

So , it's required that you have a site , rather than a page?

This sounds sort of like viral pages or groups , but more of a solid method.

Now all I need to do is implement it :D

Does it track who opted in who? IE so you could run a incent offer and get kids to invite friends?

My understanding is while you collect the emails through Connect, you still need to opt these users into your own list. Sending them offers without doing so is not CAN-SPAM compliant and will land you in the clink if you pull this shit..

Not true Spliff! While you can't mail harvested data, you can still utilize whatever you have scraped through another method which makes it compliant. PM me if interested in the details.

hahaahahaha!

But seriously, though....

HAHAHAHAHAHA

No, but really with the proper implementation this could be good.

HAHAHAHA This cracks me up.

Your goals are probably better suited for local/regional SEO than gaming Facebook.

Thanks for the advice. Call me crazy but your name isn't Rob is it? I aren't sure if you remember me but I am almost positive we exchanged a couple messages sometime last year. I just remember contacting you because I lived in Mechanicsville. I told you about my business and you helped me out with Google. I took in a lot of what you said but I ended up losing about 30 grand (yea i know ... ouch) on online SEO working with the companies and such so I'm just a little cautious going with Google again as I had to restart my business after that blow. That's why I was in the market for some newer promotion ideas like Facebook.

By The Way, don't worry about the deal even though it was encouraged by you, I still should have done a little more research on my end too

Ok end of my personal rant!

Has anyone had this working? I am greatly interested in viral promoting through facebook!

Mechanicsville, VA? I used to live there when I was a kid. I lived in a neighborhood called Battlefield Park I believe.

Some good stuff over there -

For example: have 2 pics of hot girls in a row and below each pic have a "like" button. And the headline above the 2 pics is

Which one do you LIKE?

It creates a "double bind" dilemma where what ever choice they make YOU are the winner

How in Gods green earth did you lose 30k on local SEO marketing? It "local" marketing. SEOing demolition keywords in Mechanicsville should be some of the least competitive and inexpensive to market of any I can possible think off.

You must be talking about PPC, right? Either that or you got scammed.

OP are you retarded for posting this?

Exactly. I saw this thread over at BHW (yes, decent info pops up there about once a year) but kept it to myself. People that think nothing of this new API are idiots and have no imagination/creativity. Many many new millionaires will be born in this coming year do to this.

But I'm not too worried since over 90% of the people that read this will not take action. They'll just wait and copy!

Two things:

1. Doing this and spamming the list creates a really bad user experience for Facebook users and makes them not want to click "Like" on anything in the future.

2. This method is really easy to track programmatically for Facebook.

Put those things together and you will have a very mad Facebook and a lot of people either banned or sued.

Abuse it at your own risk.

How long do you think before Facebook bans this shit?

How many people here actually lived through Facebook's iterations of app developer policies since 2007? This has been the pattern with Facebook, they are quick to react to anything that goes "too" viral and slap it with a policy. Do you realize that they banned most "forced" actions in their TOS about 2 years ago? The biggest viral loop early in the platform existence was forcing you to invite 20 friends before you could see results of a quiz and obfuscated "invite all" button that would send a stupid video to all of your friends. Suffice to say that did not last long and their policy response is much faster these days - this is just extending the same policy concepts to Open Graph.

Blocking a site is a piece of cake for Facebook. Watch your steps gentlemen!
