Gambling 'addiction'

Are you being honest?

Yes.

Thanks for your message boatBurner, I was going to shot you a PM regarding the thread I've found today, was wondering how you going.

Anyway, gambling pretty much sucks. It's obvious you have no chance to do huge profits, it's for the play and for the fun. However, it's not fun when you start gambling the house.

HiGhPeR, I don't feel like IM is gambling or like business is gambling. I actually don't want to think that because will make me feel like an actual addict, instead of playing at the casino I will spend time on my business and I don't want to think that I'm escaping casinos with some other type of gambling.

Risks exist in every business but that's not called gambling or at least is not reffered as the core meaning. Buying an ad and then watching it performing is investing and has it's risks of failing. Playing at a slot machine is gambling. Creating a product or a business, promoting it and then failing is not gambling. Doing a sports bet can be considered an investment too (and not gambling like it's on slot machines or any instant cash game) if you have experience and analyse the matches. Forex/stocks can be considered some kind of gambling but IM I don't want to think it's gambling.

I always tell my friends, especially ones who just begin to gamble(my main vice is poker, but I'll gamble on almost anything) is if I could have every penny I've ever spent gambling BACK, I'd never gamble again.

I've never lost more than I could afford, nor to do I wager that often.

All of my gambling fixes revolve around small $10-20 wagers on sporting events(I win far more often then not), and poker in a regular game(I'm UP at least $5600 this year alone).

This keeps my shit in check, but still allows me to have fun.

Anytime. Feel free to PM with questions.

I think the point HiGhPeR was trying to make was that if you're in to taking risks, then get your kicks by taking risks on business endeavors instead of the poorly favored risks at the casino.

My buddy said it best to me, "Don't stop gambling. Just stop doing it at the casino."

My point exactly. There are way better ways to risk your money than at a Casino.

I had a gambling addiction for 3 years from when I was 18-21 (stopped about 2 months ago). In that time I deposited over a quarter of a million dollars into my Betfair account and saw very little returns. I got to the point where when I won big I wasn't happy but when I lost big I was devasted. I wrote a post about it on my blog.

Absolutetly. I just love to invest my cash into business. I could say I'm addict to see my business getting crazy $$ profit.

I'll man up as dmnEPC said and start getting some shit done.
