Fucking contact lenses?

Still can't get them in. Thanks for all the help though. My eyes close right when the lens touches the eye or the lens flips back on the finger I'm using... I've never been this miserable before...

So you havent even fallen alseep with them in yet?

how is your eye closing? hold the fucking lids open like erifdekciw told you to

The optometrist put in the first pair for me yesterday but was having A LOT of trouble with one of my eyes. He had to hold one eye with 3 different fingers just to keep my eye from closing downwards. He said it's because my eyes have really sensitive reflexes.

I'm sure you eye lids have superhuman strength. Far stronger than the muscles in your fingers. Quit being such a pussy and follow the advice that you asked for.

LASIK is the shit. Seriously. Wore contacts for years. Contacts suck compared to LASIK. Get LASIK. In conclusion, LASIK is good, get it.

I prefer glasses. I'm not sure if I want to try lasik because I heard you can't move your eyeballs and that your eye muscles are basically paralyzed.

you can during surgery. it's not a good idea to. 20 minutes for great vision, great ROI

Put them in on the side of your eye and then slide them into position.

Also make sure the damn thing isn't inside out... freaking hated that.

I want my daddy's records

really complicated to get used with this lenses. Putting them on requires lot of patience at first

i would not wear lenses if i didn;t want to, but you decide for yourself who you should please and if it's really needed

I remember getting my first pair of lenses back in 1989.
I had to get up 1 hour earlier to put them in and make it on time to school.
It was absolutely brutal.

My eyesight sucks so much that I get splitting headaches if I wear my glasses too long.
It's because my peripheral vision is still fucked up when I have my glasses on and my brain hates switching from clear vision to absolutely shitty vision every few seconds.
.
It was tough for me to play sports with my glasses on so the contacts were a lifesaver.
You'll get used to them in a bit.
it takes me about 30 seconds to put mine in now.

@seous: I recently got contacts as well and it took me about 2 weeks to get used to putting them in, and taking them out. After awhile, your eye will get used to you touching it. After that your eye won't flicker and you can easily press the contact against your eye and it will stick. Honestly, I've been wearing mine for about 2 months now and I can take them out and put them in, in about 10 seconds.

Also, if it isn't comfortable then something is wrong. After a couple weeks you shouldn't even be able to feel the contact in your eye and if you do then something is wrong, and go back to the doc.

Just my 2c.

I hate contact lenses, too, but can't see without 'em. There are NO comfortable contact lenses out there, unfortunately. The best ones on the market are supposedly the Accuvue Oasis, but IMO they are no different than anything else.

There are TONS of comfortable lenses. I currently use biofinity and they are amazing. If yours aren't comfortable then something is wrong. I can't even feel mine, and sometimes accidentally sleep with them in because I can't feel them...

man the fuck up, realise that its not really uncomfortable to touch your ye. Just open it up and poek around a buit wihtout a lens on your finger and you will realise how brutal you can be. Then you just jam that fucker into your eye in 200 mph and it will stay there.

and yes there are comfortable contacts I fucking love Coopervision Biofinty or Pure Vision they breath alot and you can even sleep with them :) best invention ever...

BioFinity FTMFW! Im still looking at getting Lasik before too long but BioFinitys have really been a major improvement for me over Accuvues. I actually like that they are thicker than Accuevues because I dont tear them as easily and they breathe so well i can take a nap with them in and not experience any discomfort.

When it flips back on you it's typically because of a few things.

1. It's not centered on your finger properly.
2. You're not "squaring" it up to your eye correctly.

Either 1 or 2 you are causing too much pressure to be distributed to one side of the contact causing it to buckle.

3. You're pressing WAY too hard when you put them in.

Keep at it.

Thanks everyone. I'm getting a lot closer to getting it right. Hopefully I'll get better at it by Saturday (next checkup to see how I'm doing). @chief, thanks. I don't feel pain when they're on -- just putting them on is what's hard.
