Fuck Ad Networks and there BS

and...?

Edit: Sorry, I won't be so curt. I realise he's talking about the ad network, and if anything that makes it easier. But still a bit of human interaction will go a long way.

Why not speak to them, ask for the COO if you have to, and ask them what needs to be done to rectify it?

Sounds like it's internal politics to me, and if that's the case the chances are a persuasive discussion with the decision maker could quickly get your campaign back. From personal experience in a large company, legal departments are quick to call a halt to anything even slightly grey-area as they carry no commercial responsibility and 100% of responsibility to litigation should it ever, no matter how unlikely, arise.

But they also rarely have the authority to actually can something, they merely 'suggest', so definitely get on the phone or take the guy out for lunch.

Yeah. I would at least try to speak to someone who made that call. Find out what you need to do to make your add run compliantly.

@miksev - Wasnt talking to you. That was for Ferris:338:

gonna be sorta hard for him to give a lot of detail. All I will say really.

I'm willing to lend a hand in any way Mike if I can.

My bad, sorry. :rainfro:

Yea,

Willing to help in any way possible. I've seen and dealt with run-ins with ad networks before. Had one this past year that had a couple of publishers of ours running on them and then the ad network had a rep sign up. Couple of days later the publishers tell us they cant run the offers on such and such network anymore, then I see this ad network approved and running the offers THRU US.

Had to step in and stop it but ultimately this sort of shit happens ALOT behind the scenes. These ad networks are going to go straight to the networks and attempt to cut out "middle men" and work directly. It happened in this particular instance without us knowing or putting anything together until the publishers hit us up about it.

There aint a hell of a lot you can do. People can choose to believe or not, I really dont give a shit, we are sort of a first come, first serve type network. In that instance we told them that publishers were running and we couldnt allow them too. Big dealio, typically they'll just go to another network and run the shit themselves because when going to another network, they werent involved in this shit in the first place, so no skin off their back to allow the ad network to run internally.

It doesnt make sense that legal would step in and simply can the site. Usually some kind of compliance guy (typically the salesmen giving a half assed attempt) will at least look over your lander and tell you what needs to go there to even run the offer. So you add it, get it approved, and then run it, on a good day anyway.

For legal to suddenly step in and say you're doing something wrong makes no sense, you would think you'd get an email telling what to fix on your page to keep them happy. Yeah sure you can just move your optimized page over to another media company, but I don't blame you for being pissed, but I do think you should out the company so those ready to invest time and $ on it can be forewarned, and forearmed.

seems like whenever someone fucks up they have to make an entire thread about it

Well that remains to be seen. I do agree something isnt right here, especially if other people are promoting the same vertical still, maybe we don't have the full story. But if we do, I feel sorry for the guy, he had every right to vent. Nothing is worse than spending time and energy with a company that takes your money one day and tells you to fuck off the next.

Talk to a lawyer, not gauge the opinions of a forum of peasants who will never earn 130k from AM in their life.

You blabbed your traffic sources. They stole your winner.

Create new identity, start new campaign OR find a new ad network.

I, personally, would copy the offer itself and run it through that a similar source of traffic if it really did have the potential you assume it to have.
