So I want to get some input on this to see what others think about this.

I have this campaign on an ad network that I'm told is "GREAT" and I should "GROW IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE" by the VP. 3 weeks of work and 130k spend later I have the campaign making us some nice money. 4 days after I have it rocking they can my campaign. The only response is the "the legal team has reviewed the offer and the COO made the call" the network still has plenty of other people running the same type of rebill.

Maybe it's just me but I figure if they encouraged me to spend money to get the campaign working only to tell me it can't be promoted anymore.. well they should be giving me back some of that money I spent in order to get the campaign to work.

I'd guess I'm simply screwed and will have to move on. But what do you guys think?

dude you said you made money
go duplicate somewhere else. you aren't getting your money back, this is wasted effort on your part even bitching about it.

I'm confused, are you getting paid or not? If you are getting paid why complain? If you aren't getting paid and you are out $130k that's a good chunk of change and we want to know the network.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, want me to point out that you wasted effort making a post like this?

I'm pretty sure bitching is always wasted effort but sometimes I just gotta vent. Kudos to you if you can spend a bunch of time working on an offer only to get out of it 1/10 of what you could have because someone flip flopped on you and never even think twice about it and get back to work. I on the other hand have to be angry and bitch for at least an hour or so.

Thanks for understanding and reminding me why I need to get of WF and back to work :smilie_weihn_winki:

I got paid by my Affiliate network of course and I made money. The point is I spent time to optimize a campaign to the point where it would have made me 5-15k a day for a little while before dying down but never got that because they decided they didn't want the offer anymore. Which is fair many networks don't allow it but fuck it sucks that there was a flip flop.

It's really not even the VPs fault or anything it's a good network... the legal team just stepped in and does what they do ruin the party. I can't blame them really but I can still bitch.

It's not like you lost all the work you put into it. You have the creative. You have the landing page. I'm assuming you have some sense of what demos / placements were working. So what do you need to do besides get on the phone, negotiate and execute a few IOs?

Sure it sucks that you had a profitable one and have to jump through some hoops, but welcome to rebills.

We've all been there. I'm just saying focus on more money. Its the best cure.

Why not speak to them, ask for the COO if you have to, and ask them what needs to be done to rectify it?

Sounds like it's internal politics to me, and if that's the case the chances are a persuasive discussion with the decision maker could quickly get your campaign back. From personal experience in a large company, legal departments are quick to call a halt to anything even slightly grey-area as they carry no commercial responsibility and 100% of responsibility to litigation should it ever, no matter how unlikely, arise.

But they also rarely have the authority to actually can something, they merely 'suggest', so definitely get on the phone or take the guy out for lunch.
