Fuck 1&1 Web Hosting: They are the Worst Company I have ever done business with

1&1 Web Hosting Sucks

I have registered a lot of domains through them when i was starting because of the free private registration, and then one day i get a call from a fucking collection agency trying to collect like $50/$60. is this real life? a fucking collection agency? that shit will fuck up your credit. brb cant get a mortgage cause some shitty domain registrar cant afford a proper accounts receivable department so they farm everything out

Bro, go on all webmaster forums and post this!
Make title of post "1&1 Review - 1&1 Scam"
They will contact you very soon ;)

I didn't read the thread, but yes, fuck these guys. I've been paying for the smallest lil baby hosting package of theirs for almost a year now, because I used it for a week and canceled. But they small printed me into a year contract.

So instead of getting a ton of business from me later, they got the equivalent of one nice dinner over the course of a year, and will never get another dime from me ever again. And i'll try to warn everyone else too.

Never understood that business model.

Never understood that business model.

They called me recently because I still got like 3 domains registered with them and I have no physical and mental stamina to try to cancel it for the 34th time.

So they called me and said try our free service. I said no, I don't want, don't install fucking anything and leave me alone.

They installed, of course. Took me 2 days to cancel this shit.

Their business model seems to be worse than that of thin affiliate site.

I have a few domains with them, I haven't had any issues with them, but I moved most of mine out already because I saw shitloads of complaints.

I finally got out of my domain contract after they refused my cancellation request several times and threatened to sue me for non payment. They apologized for the mistake on their part and promised me a refund for at least a year...turns out they have some other shitty rule in place and only got me a partial refund. Their whole business model is to scam and squeeze the most out of their customers. They know that getting a lawyer to defend yourself would be more costly than paying their scammy asses a couple of $$.

They're still trucking along fine, especially in germany. It boggles the mind, but they're a huuuge, popular brand and obviously savants at damage control. Otherwise they could not afford the prime time TV spots peddling their "services" to those who haven't sampled their "services" before.

I can only say that again and again: If you hear the name 1&1 - run away, as fast as you possibly can.

edit: here is my original post complaining about 1&1 and the scam they run.

Their phone system even has a prompt "If you're calling about collections press #..." so obviously 1and1 reviews are not going to be too favorable.

Yeah, 1and1 is a scam registrar who will do everything they can to extort money from you. They also had customer support people phoning me daily while I was asleep to try to up sell me on web hosting, even when my domain was already setup with another web host.

After hearing so many 1&1 horror stories and bad reviews of 1and1, I decided to just close my account and delete the domain (8 months early!) so I would have plenty of time to make sure they didn't decide to start billing me again before the year was up.

In fact, thanks for this thread, it reminds me that it's time for my monthly check-up of my "CLOSED" 1&1 account to ensure they haven't decided to start charging me money again for no reason.

I would love to see a representative from 1&1 chime in here about their malicious and unethical billing practices, which would make even the biggest fans of Dr Oz squirm.

I have been working on a blog post called "The Worst Web Hosting Companies That You MUST Avoid", I hope nobody minds if I reference some of their terrible experiences with 1&1.

They've just charged me for SSL sert which I never ordered. Fuck 1&1 scam. Will transfer all my 200+ domains away from them and close two hosting packages within the next couple of months.
