While they aren't free, you can find something really nice looking and responsive to suit just about any purpose on themeforest.net.

looking into using Genesis framework underneath my new theme for my main main money site - would love to hear moar thoughts on that...

Does anybody have feedback on Genesis? It's been a while since it was mentioned in this thread.

Genesis is quite good. There aren't that many good child themes based on that. The ones at studiopress are not that great either.
