Ok I'm really confused here. This thread, well the "merits" of it, seem largely self-contradictory and hypocritical. I'll just got ahead and raise a bunch of issues that I have so far. Feel free to argue the point but I did feel quite dirty reading this thread (yes I read nearly all 40 pages of it - and didn't download anything)

1) Most ebooks sold are crap. Fair enough. Lots of things are crap. Some things are better than others. I can get past punishing the authors of the really crap stuff by posting their stuff here. But there have been links to stuff that I have had firsthand testimonials from others has taught them a lot and got them off to a great start. This is some kind of personal vendetta against everyone who publishes an informational product on creating any kind of financial success! Yes, you can find this information for free. I can also knit myself a sweater for free. I can also fix my own car for free after reading on forums how to do it. Doesn't mean I want to do it! Giving someone a shortcut, as long as the information is worthwhile; of course that has value in it! What the hell is wrong with selling information in digital format? By this logic, anyone who sells a printed instructional manual on ANYTHING should be driven out of town and shot! This is seriously twisted logic, people.

2) Half of you going along with this ridiculousness are affiliate marketing bullshit products that rip people off anyway! How can you on the one hand kick up a big stink about others ripping people off with products and then go ahead and do the same? And before you object, first let me know if you have actually obtained a copy of or tried every product you're marketing. Because if you haven't (and there isn't already enough overwhelming evidence to satisfy) then you are taking a gamble that you're not convincing others to buy bullshit.

3) People are lazy. That is always the way. My own product which I've been working VERY hard on, will save myself and anyone who chooses to buy a copy a bunch of time. However according to the logic of this thread, people should not want to save time and spend money on an automation product such as mine, because they can do everything it does for free! All they gotta do is go online and build links manually! There ya go! Free! Well obviously thats stupid fucking logic. If I wanted to do the boring shit, I wouldn't have first looked for a more efficient alternative. Bullshit products aside, what is wrong with people wanting to find a quicker way to the information they need? People are usually happy and grateful to trade a few dollars to give them a head start.

4) This thread is completely pointless in terms of trying to "teach" people to find the information themselves through forums and stuff, because it's not making any real effort (that I can see) to market itself as a worthwhile alternative to ebooks. Yeah there's a lot of great info in the forum, but how are 99% of the people who don't know it exists supposed to know to come here? What would happen if there was an ebook full of great resources, a good action plan and references to THIS forum? Would you give away their product too?

5) Why on earth would you think that someone wanting to sell information on how to make money is necessarily deceitful or pointless? There are two HUGE problems with this argument. (1) It assumes that everyone is evil and selfish and has no interest in teaching others. This is a load of bullshit because I personally know many people who do very well but still enjoy teaching what they know to others. (2) It suggests that there is no worthwhile value to those selling this type of information if they have anything worthwhile to say because if they had something worthwhile to teach, they'd be doing it, not teaching it. Well here's a thought. Perhaps they have (a) BEEN doing it and made a whole bunch of money and (b) realise that there is ALSO money in teaching it! Shocking I know. That someone can have made a success of something and then want to extend that success further by teaching others to do what they did.

AGAIN, answer me this: Why is a digital book inherently more evil than a printed book? And please avoid the issue of printed books taking a lot more effort to get into publication and therefore need to be of a higher quality; the problem with that is (a) there are million os shitty published books out there that people have still bought and still enjoyed, and (b) the nature of marketing on the internet means that doing a printed book is obviously not viable because the market changes too quickly.

FINALLY: Please don't gloss over the fact that I said I KNOW there is a bunch of shit in this department. And honestly if someone is selling a pile of shit, they should be called on it. That's what this thread (I originally thought when I started reading it) was supposed to be for. But I have seen the names of some actual decent products popping up. It's great that you may have all this knowledge already, but having a start from a good product is welcomed and valued by many newbies. Deciding on everyone's behalf that they should trawl through forums for months sifting through junks threads and trying to sort the wheat from the chaff and deciding which bits of contradicting information should be consumed, well that's just short sighted.

although most of the ebook are bs as you believed, alot of them get me a head start where i didnt know shit about internet affiliating

Man, what sucky responses. Rather than telling me not to be a whiny bitch, how about actually responding to some of my points? I thought they were pretty valid. Basically that response is "Fuck you, I can pirate whatever I want". Which really misses the point.

go post it in a thread where someone might care, or, hell, even start your own thread about your concerns.

you aren't going to find intellectually stimulating conversation about pirating in this one, so you most likely won't get any responses to your "points".

What's funny is that, Nathan, instead of writing that long as rants, you could've spent the time making money.

So fuck you.

Nathan, you could have just made that long rant an ebook so we could at least post a link to it here

Why is there such disdain for ebooks and their authors?

Lets see, Some schmuck decides to rehash some Internet Marketing book and write their own ebook. Since there are no 'real' Internet Marketing books, these are digital. Ergo, no cost except the writing/rewriting. Then this schmuck turns around and sells it to starving-for-real-information new Internet Marketers for a huge amount of money. Because they don't know any better.
So yes, have a look at the books, and if they help, that is great. But why shouldn't the people who have been around for a while not have disdain for these guys who prey on new marketers? As for some products that you believe are good, great, thank who ever shared for saving you literally thousands of dollars.
