I don't normally use forums because they are an open flame session. Maybe I deserve it maybe I don't. But fair dinkum I have to say something about this thread.
Guys you may not like the ebooks sold online but that maybe because you already know what is in them. We could all write the content that they contain because we have been in this game quite a while. However for the newbie these ebooks are of a real value. I am an author myself and have written quite a few ebooks targeted at the beginner online. I have given quite a few titles away and have sold a few also. I have even ghostwritten quite a few titles I am sure you have all read at one time or another without even realising it.
The simple fact of the matter is that giving ebooks away without the authors permission is criminal and that is what is happening here. Just because you don't like the content does not give you the right to publish an authors work.
If you think you have a great idea of your own then write your own ebook if you have the abilty. Its as simple as that. Marketing online is a real skill and getting an ebook into a real sales spin requires a set and perfect routine. Giving shit away goes against what we all do in marketing online and that is to make money.

Not sure what the laws are where you are, but selling affiliate based products isn't criminal here.
Anyway, just because something is illegal doesn't always mean its wrong. The people that make the laws don't always do so for the benefit of the majority of the population.
Also, many countries have laws regarding misleading advertising - you cannot make false claims about the benefits of a product. So when some 'guru' says his latest ebook contains everything he knows about marketing and it turns out to only contain selective information maybe that is against the law? Maybe it needs to be tested in court?
If you bought a car and found it had parts missing you wouldn't be too happy would you?
Nowadays you always see earnings disclaimers as people realise they could get sued for exaggerated earnings claims. How long before they have to include a disclaimer about the usefulness of the information?
