Hey,

I read somewhere that http://officelive.microsoft.com/ was offering free domains and hosting during their beta period, I tried it and it works.

You do need to enter your cc info but as far as I can tell it is only billed if you want to upgrade your account. I did a quick search on the forum and didn't find it posted anywhere else.. Maybe it will be useful for someone.

If it is already posted .. sorry..

Here's mine: http://dragtalk.com/

They don't offer blog or forum software .. damn it.

But ---

Starting at
$29.95/month
after beta --

Thats expensive if you don't cancel in time!

Is it just me, or are they not telling when the beta ends?
Wven searched the FAQ but can't find it.

Can't really think of a use for it, especially since they want credit card information for signup.

Otherwise it would've been fun to use microsoft to launch a few hundred Spam Sites.

You are right, cinran, however:

Q: Why is Microsoft Office Live Basics free?
A: Office Live Basics is offered at no charge through an advertising-supported model. Microsoft is allowing a select number of advertisers to place small, unobtrusive ads on a handful of member pages. Please know that our advertisers' content will not appear on the Web site you create for your own company.

So they get to put their ad on the site and there is no info if putting your own ads might be against the TOS.

They make you download "the latest IE" for even the signup :hollering:

Sure, nice deal but I guess not for aff.

You've got me there.. I would say any hosting service offering free domain names and hosting is not for an affiliate.

""They make you download "the latest IE" for even the signup""

I didn't download anything?? Maybe I already had it?

Both links still work for me .. they may be blocking traffic from Turkey, back in the day when I use to provide hosting the datacenter that housed my servers use to block all traffic from Turkey. Fuckin hackers..

Try one of those free web surfing proxy sites .. there should be around a million out there..

Thank u!
Will try to find a way to register...
hope it is possible from from Turkey...
Also i think it is not blocking traffics only from Turkey but also from Kazakhstan: one of my friends said that he couldn't open the page that u have given link to...

OK- so I have about 88 domains i'm not ready to work on but are expiring soon. I dont' want to pay to have them hosted at godaddy since even though I like their customer service I hate their high fees.

Can I just transfer my domains to MSN? I don't care if for now they have msn ads on them- as they don't make much at SEDO for me anyway. I just want a free place to park register them until I am ready to bring them to life...
