Fox News is BP oil spill misinformation clearinghouse

I stopped buying into broadcast news after I watched this:

Live from Baghdad (2002) (TV)

I remember when the real thing was happening and everyone was showing rioters/protesters on the news so that it looked like the place was in anarchy.

It shows the same scenes in the film, except it is really just 20-30 people in a back alley and when the cameras stopped, everybody stopped yelling, packed up their signs and calmly walked home.

Link to what? Look at their site. When you choose to correct only conservative misinformation, but let liberal misinformation slide, you tacitly approve of liberal misinformation.

So while they have plenty of links showing misrepresentation and misleading the American public by "reputable" news sources, your only suggestion that they are some how misrepresenting is "just look at their site".

I don't care what their angle is, if they are facts, then they are facts. I'm sure there are plenty of conservative leaning media watchdogs just like this one that is doing the same for the "liberal" media which is just dandy as it helps promote balance. However, your point is this particular site is misleading and proliferating misinformation so I say again...

Link please.

Site your source, otherwise, GTFO.

Liberal thought process:

Step 1. Blame George W. Bush for all the world's problems
Step 2. Bush is out of office, still blame him for over a year
Step 3. If Bush can't be blamed, blame Fox News

Dude, Fox news blamed Bill Clinton for 9/11. The only thing we can blame Clinton for is just trying to get it in.

I gotta admit I love watching the Daily Show (I know it's fake news) because Jon Stewart just shows how retarded every single media outlet we have truly is in America.

Common sense and logic. You're not going to have evidence and sources on a silver platter; I'm not running an investigation here.

MM only want to correct conservative misinformation. Not all misinformation. Not misinformation in general. They are only attacking conservative misinformation. Why go partisan?

It's because these guys are partisan.

Not that I have a problem with that. But if you are a liberal organization, or a conservative or any partisan organization, it's important to make your political position clear. Don't masquerade as mainstream or nonpartisan, whether directly stating such or even implying it.

This is why FOX deserves to be lambasted the way it is, and this is why Media Matters deserves a kick in the pants, as well as any other group that is partisan, but tries to paint itself as nonpartisan.

So far the only nonpartisan political site out there that doesn't seem to be skewed is factcheck.org. And even it's run by a partisan group.

There's your link. Have fun with it. I'll GTFO.

Media Matters is a George Soros smear group and Democrat shills. lol at libtards trying to defend them.

Hey now, George Soros is a good guy. It's not like he's a socialist fucking retard fucking Americas Economy every chance he gets....wait...ahhhh

Sorry, but that should read "Media Matters is Obama's Complete misinformation clearinghouse."

Did you know that despite all of the shit he took, Bush had over 50% of our guard, that was not already over seas in battle, to New Orleans within a week of the levee failure? It took only 6 days to stop the levee failure. And when Bush recognized the failure for leadership in his own admin and in the local region, he immediately got someone to come in and kick some asses into gear. Does anyone remember General Honore? That's right, he's the ass kicker brought in by Bush when he recognized the job wasn't being done. What does General Honore have to say about this predicament were in now??

Obama needs to have his "General Honore" moment. And recognize that shit just isn't getting done.

edit - Jeez, I just realized that this video is almost a month old. Only proving more that Obama is sitting on the sidelines.

Actually, it appears as though the government is going to be BP's misinformation clearinghouse. You remember, the same Whitehouse that conducted it's own interviews w/ their Supreme court pick, rather than letting an actual reporter interview her. The same white house that said the health care bill talks would be held openly on CSPAN. Yep that one...

BP remains key Pentagon supplier
(AFP) – 16 hours ago
WASHINGTON — Despite its role in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, energy giant BP remains a key supplier of fuel to the Pentagon, The Washington Post reported.
Citing data from the Defense Logistics Agency, the newspaper said BP had contracts with the US Defense Department worth at least 980 million dollars in the current fiscal year.
In fiscal 2009, BP was the Pentagon's largest single supplier of fuel, providing 11.7 percent of the total purchased, and in 2010, its contracts amount to roughly the same percentage, the report said.
The paper quoted BP spokesman Robert Wine as saying he was aware of at least one "big contract" signed by the US military after the oil rig explosion on April 20 that led to the largest environmental disaster in US history.
An estimated 35,000 to 60,000 barrels of oil per day has gushed from the ruptured well since the BP-leased Deepwater Horizon drilling rig sank on April 22, some 50 miles (80 kilometers) off the coast of Louisiana.
A containment system has captured about 557,000 barrels of oil, but rough seas delayed the deployment of a third vessel that could boost capacity from 25,000 barrels to 53,000 barrels a day.
That means an estimated 1.9 to 3.6 million barrels -- or 79.5 to 153 million gallons -- of oil has now gushed into the Gulf.
Using the high end of that estimate, the spill has now surpassed the 1979 Ixtoc blowout, which took nine months to cap and dumped an estimated 3.3 million barrels (140 million gallons) into the Gulf of Mexico.
So far, members of Congress have discussed barring BP from any new oil and gas drilling leases, not from fuel sales to the government, The Post said.
However, the Environmental Protection Agency had begun to explore cutting off BP from all federal contracts -- including those with the Defense Energy Support Center, which buys all fuel for the military services, the paper noted.
The EPA's move was sparked by BP's 2006 oil spill in Alaska and a 2005 explosion at a refinery in Texas, according to the report.

Lol the way some US politicians call it British Petroleum all the time and how they build scape goats. Although I can see political point scoring from this.

I liked it when obama sent back the Winston Churchill in the middle of a war where British soldiers stand shoulder to shoulder with US soldiers. No benefit to him whatsoever.

Well Churchill's old party is back in charge and obama like pissed all over them lol.

Conclusion: Politicians only care about political point scoring. Obama has no clue how to treat friends , rebuild the economy but knows lots about political point scoring.

Oil is the real world currency, more so even than gold.

Haters can hate all they want, oil is not going anywhere and if we are stupid ass enough to thumb our noses at it the Chinese and Russians will be happy to take the oil. (So will I)
