I waver between long hippy hair and short buzz cuts in life, and when it's short I just shave my own head since it's all the same length and takes 10 minutes. I've always used a guide on the razor (a #1) mainly because I've been unsure of whether I can safely do just the metal razor on my head.

But now I want to try a #0 (just the blade). My concern is that with just the blade, I'll have an errant shave that cuts a line in my hair and then I'll have to skinhead it and Bic my head (which I don't want to do).

Anyone here shave their head with just the metal electric razor blade?

I use the metal on clippers. I flip it over to get even closer after the first page with it the correct way.

Kind of not sure if you use a razor or if you use clippers?

Should work just fine, I use it on my neck some times so I know it can be done.

Glad I could help bro.

lulz

Have you ever clipped it and then gone the full hog and broken out the razor dchuk? It's an interesting sensation. I wouldn't recommend it in winter though.

Before I started shaving my head again, my hair was about 8 inches long. Came home and told my buddy we're shaving it, he got so excited to chop it off that he did the honors the first time. I saved a lock of curls lol.

Checking out now, thanks for the link.

No pics? Boo.

that short, minus goatee and swastika tattoo...I'll probably have this same style at asw so we can all get drunk together and talk about shaved heads like good little gay webmasters

headblade is awesome. i shave mine every day and takes like 2 minutes in the shower. easy to cut your head with a normal razor, but never happens with a headblade and you can shave front to back in one swipe.

Tried doing the Bic thing ones...head felt like plastic and then itched like crazy so now I just use clippers at a zero (bare metal). If you take your whole head down to a zero, just go over it with one side of the clippers, then flip it over and go over it again to make sure it is even. You can also usually feel it with your hands if its uneven.

In any event, takes me like 5-10 minutes to shave my whole head and then I just jump in the shower. Cake.

Shave my face with a set of clippers with just the blade every day.

For cutting my hair though I always use the first guard. Last time I cut it through I went to do one last little trim and forgot to put it on and ended up having to shave the entire side of my head like that.

For me it's a bit too extreme using no blade on my head.

Real men shave with a real razor...!

I've been shaving my head for ca. 7 years now and I did the clipper thing the first 2-3 years too. But subsequently I decided to just go full tilt .. took my Mach3, went to work and never looked back. A real wet shave is so much cleaner than clipping/trimming and it only takes 4-5 minutes. First shaves will be a bit rough and your head will feel weird, but trust me the feeling is on another level and it's awesome on windy autumn/fall days.

@CCLING : I have the headblade too, but I dont really use it, I would suggest a good 3 blade razor.

Once a week I just use the 1/16th inch guard on head, face and neck. I cut myself once when I caught the bottom of my ear approaching my left sideburn from below. It slipped right in between the teeth on the guard and it got chewed up a bit. Just gotta be careful.
