Why Hello there,

My name is stick2herbs because I strongly believe in sticking to herbs.

I am a noob at IM, I suck at building websites and suck at SEO even more. But we all gotta start somewhere, amrite? I plan to keep a log of my progress, as I attempt to build a niche targetted site, promoting a shady ass rebill offer:338:

My goal is simple: Get at least 1 sale a day (be it $20, $30, or $40) after 1 month of site building and optimization.

Now, you're probably thinking, these cute journals that get abandoned after 2 weeks belong in DP and MMD. Well, you see, if you suck at IM why not at least hang out with the best self centered gay super affiliates, at wickedfire. And maybe amongst the plethora of dickrolls I might find some helpful info (not counting on it).

Now, you're probably wondering, how newbie am I at SEO? Well maybe this will give you an idea, if you asked me what SEO is 2 months ago, I woulda called you a dumbfuck and said its "CEO". I have a vague idea of what a backlink is, and no idea what SERP rankings are.

But one thing I have learned is, google is your friend, youtube too, BHW aswell, MMD is great too, wickedfire has info inbetween dickrolls and digital point sucks.

My plan is, after building one successful site, either continue to optimize it if I think theres room to expand, if not, find a new niche and repeat the process. After perhaps building my first site, successfully, I might make more than 1 site at a time. Eventually I hope to be making xxx daily purely from SEO niche sites. I then plan to expand to PPC, and then make xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx daily and then buy a t-shirt that says "N.W.O" on the front and "Damn All" on the back. The shirt will be a plain black, simple tshirt with white writing, BUT it will be made by prada. Because I can. I will then take over the world all WHILE wearing my NWO shirt.

I plan to take this one step at a time, from keyword research, onsite optimization and offsite optimization.

Im going to read some shit now, buh-bye.

EDIT #1: Oh yah, I forgot to mention, all my updates are going to be BS and then in approx 2 months im going to try to sell an ebook to you guys for 25$ (reg price $50!)

EDIT #2: Im using WP (dur hur newbie platform)

Hello Herbs,

No problem, I understand. Maybe in the future, you and a penis can get together and work something out.

In the meantime, good luck with your SEO.

If you're doing stricly SEO, your 1 sale/day in a month, although it may seem cautious, will likely be difficult to attain. SEO can take numerous months to get any real traffic. You might want to create a couple sites right at the beginning, rather than your plan to create one, optimize it, create another. Just some thoughts.

farking.

^This.

And go read all the stickied posts in the Traffic & Content forum before you run around google looking for good info.

Ok, first question,

Would you guys recommend going the "market" way or the niche specific way? Obviously if you rank really high for the market way you'll get more (dur hur), but for a newbie, would you guys recommend finding some good market keywords with low competition, or would you guys recommend going niche specific (like item specific).

Im guessing, I should go, for niche specific, as ranking will be much easier, but thats assuming the item is popular enough and there is enough searches. BUt say if I find no good niche specific item, (not nuff searches), but I find a decent market keyword, not to crowded; should I use that market keyword, or should I continue searching for something niche specific.

@Farking, thanks for the tip, Im going to stick to 1 site right now, but in the future once I get this rolling Ill take up multiple sites.

Go read Eli's blog...you should go for both, build niche sites to get ranked quickly and build up good longtails, then funnel everything to your main broad money site.

Ok, I found a few niches, one I am pretty sure I could easily dominate. Im probably going to spend the rest of the evening reading about keywords, choosing the write keywords.

But basically I found 3 niches (long tail) I feel I might be able to work with, one definately.

I also found something weird.
For google normally searching

Long tail keywords here will get you way more results than searching
"long tail keywords here" and searching
Intitle:"long tail keywords here" will get you even less results

I was testing out this one niche market and it was the exact opposite :O
So I was naturally like wtf, i aint touching that with a 10 foot pole, plus it was already dominated pretty bad by marketers.

Still weird how it was backwards. Gonna have read up on that.

@dchuk, thanks, gonna spend probably the next 3 hrs or so reading, will read the blog first.

EDIT: Also, since I found a niche I believe I might easily be able to dominate, I might take on 2 sites at a time. Still need to read more, because I could be badly wrong and shit piss etc.

Don't sweat being "wrong" at first. There will always be some dumb ass on digital point that will buy your failures :)

LOL @ Above

Ok, today im starting my article writing, its gonna be a review site aka my name is John Fuck A Duck I sucked at life but then I bought SHITCAKES321 and my penis grew 5 feet my muscles bulged i lost weight i made 5 billion overnight and women were so attracted to me that i had to literally rip em off me!

Nah, Im actually pretty good at writing, cause in Highschool English the teachers give you gay topics. And then you write something funny/witty/goes against the establishment and that signals the independent thought alarm (simpsons reference ftw).

In other news, I decided to try PPC for lulz and so far my ROI is just under 900%

My troll sense is tingling...

About the 900% ROI? Its probably beginners luck, and I'll probably turn unprofitable any moment now.

Im using FB adds by the way.
If I could prove to you without revealing shit, I would but can't.

But its only ran for 12 hrs or so now, tomorrow I'll post on update on profits/losses.

Anyways, back to article writing:sadcrying4:

EDIT: Except, I can't technically go unprofitable since I've already made over the 13$ I spent on a VCC + Voucher.
And incase youre wondering, the ROI was taken without the Voucher in consideration. So $1 spent on Fb ads was counted as $1 spent, even though in reality $1 worth of clicks only costed me arround 20 cents.

@stick2herbs

your thread is quite interesting. do post some more after u finish your reading. am sure it will help others.

Lol, now im in negatives for PPC :P

Anyways, gonna actually start putting the site together now.

Well guys, not much to update. I took a break as I was burning out pretty fast + my sister had to use my laptop as her charger broke and she needed em for midterms.

Expect more regular updates soon.

I've finally decided which niche to tackle. I feel its a good "starter" niche and should be relatively easy to rank well.

According to google keyword/adword tool, it gets over 500 global monthly searches.
I know, its very tiny (thats what she said), but I chose it for 2 reasons.

1. 500 searches, but its gonna be high converting. Its basically people that are on the fence teetering, and I just need to convince em. Im confident that if I get the traffic (aka rank high in the SERPs btw. I figured out what that means) Ill be able to convert.

2. It seems like a good niche to tackle for a newbie, it doesn't seem extravagantly hard, and the rewards seem OK.

Im also have my eye on another niche, but before even planning taking on any other niche, I'd like to get this bad boy rolling.

Oh yah, as for PPC.
It was total luck haha. Spent 13 bucks for a $70 FB voucher + VCC got $20 in conversions. So $7 profit, but if I was doing it legit without voucher it'd be nice red ink!

Oh yes, I don't know if I said this before, so Ill say it again.

My route is niche/item/product specific and make a review site. Then try to rank for keywords for it.

So no, "how to lose weight" (good luck ranking in that)

Im choosing something like "shamwow review"

Cause its easier, obviously, although traffic is way smaller, I want small niche sites for specific keywords.

ie. www.shamwowreviews.com

My names Jenkem Jones, I was a skeptic. But then it cured my crack addicition and I stopped slapping hookers.

Thanks shamwow.

For the sake of updating, today all I did was upload wordpress themes. Cause you gotta pick a sexually arousing theme amirite?

It took me 1 hour to find a few nice themes. All I had time for today. Lots of homework, probably won't make my "goal" of my first sale in a month. But who cares :P Tomorrow wont have any time to work at all, thursday should be lighter and friday should be good.

Things Im doing next:

1) Customizing 2 Themes Slightly (cant decide between the 2)
2) Writing/Uploading of the review for the item
3) Onsite SEO (Plugins, Load time, Keyword density)
4) Offsite SEO <--- Take Tha Longest
5) PWNORZ?!

Slap a theme up there, install all in one seo, html on pages & seo friendly images plugins, change your permalinks, start posting content and build some links. You can make it look good later because guess what, no one's seeing your site until you actually SEO it if you go the SEO route.

Less overthinking, more doing.
