Flying Car Makes Successful Maiden Flight

This is a great opportunity to nip it in the bud - no old people, women or asians driving.

Before anyone calls racism - live in a city with 90% asians and learn the difference between racism and cold, hard stats.

I hope this is not another April Fool's prank, cause if it isn't then I want that flying car that they promised us back in the 60s.

It's 100% real and not a joke. I'd get one in a heart beat if they're actually affordable, but I doubt they will be. It'll probably be something for the ultra rich. In about 50 years it'll probably be where a normal person could afford it.

EDIT:

I did a quick search on google and saw any where from USD$75k up to USD$175k so it might be more affordable than I thought.

Well, according to Cynthia Kenyon from TED Talks....we'll still feel 25 when we are 50 =)

FAA already approved it.

I'm not talking about approving the aircraft.

EDIT: actually, have at it, what's the worst thing that could happen when a VFR certified pilot with no real understanding of weather patterns or how to navigate using instruments decides to treat flying an aircraft as something akin to hopping in the minivan to go get milk from the corner store?

JFK Jr. was cool, I can see anybody getting out of that gyrobike who doesn't look like a reject from Revenge of the Nerds casting.

You still have to have a pilots license to fly it. Seeing how you can't fly it to the store unless they have a real landing strip I don't see your point. Oh I get it have fun trolling.

"The gyroplane technology means that it can be steered and landed safely even if the engine fails, because the rotor keeps auto rotating."

Here are some photos of other autorotation-capable rotary wing aircraft:
