Ah, I guess I wasn't really aware of the full situation when I made my last post. I wasn't aware that YPN was currently closed, and thus wasn't sure how smart-pricing would have any impact on me. I'll have to do some more reading on YPN and smart-pricing. I was under the impression that YPN was merely an alternative to Adsense. I wasn't intentionally saying "srew profit", lol. Thanks for bringing that up.
Damn newb-ness.

I can't pass judgement on searchfeed traffic yet. I got my keywords approved, etc, but so far hardly any clicks (4 in 2 days). I'm thinking I need rewrite my ads (I have 2 running).

Thanks for the tips on the pictures, I'll try fiddling around with that once I actually get some traffic flowing, so I can have a basis to compare CTRs.

I've also been looking at trying Adbrite for some traffic, but haven't had a chance yet since my day job has been hectic lately.

Will let you know. Thanks again.
Sorry if I seemed harsh didnt mean it to come out that way.

I would agree with the gentlemen that had the Dubai site. Those adsense blocks convert very well. Also retangle adsense boxes (like the 336x280) mixed in with content also work well with pictures.

On the topic of YPN not having the ad topics you have to remember they are still in their infancy stage. Also the payouts though them are much better. Adbrite is a contested subject on here you jsut need to do your own experiementing and see what works for you. Jsut keep an eye on searchfeed traffic. Hope all goes well.

whoa! WTF! i got a shock when I woke up this morning, all of a sudden searchfeed started sending traffic, or somesuch.. I'm gonna e-mail 'em cause, last night when I went to bed (aboud 12:30pm) i had a blistering 6 clicks from them. this morning I've had 180? wtf? Now, since I started advertising with them on the 7th, I have NOT had 180 hits to my site. hell, since the 2nd I've only had 88!. I'm gonna e-mail them and be like WTF?!

:2gunsfiring_v1:

on another note. I am wondering about an exit pop-up, or pop-under. anyone vote yes? no? any recommendations?

pyrhho: What kind of revenue did you get from the boost of traffic? If you don't mind sharing that is! :-D

umm. paid about $20, and made about $4 with about a 2% CTR...
I'd only need about an 8% CTR to be breaking even, unfortunately that's a bit easier said than done.

yarr..

I sorted it out with Searchfeed, and best as I can tell it's legit traffic.. shit traffic, but.. I'm gonna go back and work on my site a bit more whenever I get a chance.

I've been trying to learn about ways to raise conversion levels. And, I set up an adwords account to try to pick up some long-tail traffic, and send it to the mainstream ads. But other than that everything's been on hold till I get some more time to focus on this.

Did you profit $4 or are you saying that you lost $16?

You might try 7search for your traffic. It seems like it is better traffic to me, but not as much of it.

I would second that 7search is a tiny bit better but like Jdog said less of it. How did you determine that searchfeed is legit traffic? Interested to know thanks and good luck. Also you might be spreading yourself to thin with your keywords.

I determined it as legit (as far as I can tell), because my Google Analytics updated later, and for those days, it says I actually did get that many hits from searchfeed, so AFAIK, it's not bogus. I really don't know enough to make any further deductions than that, so...

By legit I was meaning that it converts. Just because you get the hits doesnt mean it is good traffic. A robot can hit your site and not convert. Am I saying searchfeed is 100% robot no but sometimes I wonder. That is what I was getting at with legit.

ah, yeah I have no idea if it was a robot or not, but before my google analytics, and the counter on searchfeed weren't agreeing, which was why I was pissed off.

This is my theory. Searchfeed gives more traffic than 7search, but 7search traffic converts better. I think the difference in the amount of traffic between the 2 is due to robots or something similar.

I barely get any clicks from 7search. like 2 or 3 a day. maybe i need more keywords or higher bids, not sure, but would definitely love it if i got more traffic from them.

What other sources are you looking at for traffic? Also, if you feel comfortable saying so what kind of site is it? A lot of people get great organic traffic from forum sigs and article and site submittal sites. You might want to add these into the rotation (depending on the niche), because there are many aspects of them that are free and take little if any upkeep/work.
