Spent 2000+ hours on these:
Me too. I mined hell a lot of rune ore but never managed to sell for real money. When I was about to try it, they killed in-game trading with a major update
Made my first $$$ with CS 1.6. Ahh those were the days.
If any of you played competitively: was CAL-I ringer, CAL-P fulltime.

Special mention: Death Gate, a point-and-click adventure game based on the novel series of the same name. I think it came out in '94; really good story and fantastic artwork and voice work, even by today's standards. I still play it once every couple years.
