Hey,

Anyone just get a lifetime ban for advertising Fatloss4idiots? I just got banned for a campaign I ran over a year ago. The guy at Google customer service said I would have to make changes to the Fatloss4idiots website, which of course I don't own.

It doesn't matter if my campaign is active or not. Even if it's deleted. I still need to make those changes.

ebooks = ban

see a pattern? (hint: google doesn't really want lots of the affiliate promotions we promote) Either start a new adwords account & get it's month long run out of it.. or drop google.

Thats what you get for direct linking and promoting a clickbank product, get new everything (IPs, domains, servers, billing info etc) and start over with another account.

Adwords only allows one advertiser per site to advertise on google, which means that if the company is promoting the product in house on Adwords, then you as an affiliate aren't allowed to promote it on Adwords as well

What makes you say ebooks = ban? Don't think this is the case whatsoever - infoproducts in general (niche dependent) obviously do fine all the time on adwords. The others though, yes. I think the thing that would constitute a slap or a ban as far as ebooks go would be dependent on the sales/squeeze/LP, not so much that it's an ebook itself.

Tara Medium = insta-ban

A lot of the shit (def. not all) that uses affiliate marketing is shady and dicks over the customer. Google obviously has an interest in keeping user experience good, so stuff that looks shitty Google will try and get rid of obviously.

That being said, that is ridiculous that they banned you for an inactive campaign merely tested over a year ago. They're Google though and they have the power so your're SOL.

One of my oldest Adwords account got banned even though I didn't have any campaigns active for a few months. I guess they do look at non-active accounts to ban also. What a shame.
