how many of you make up reviews for products you have never even seen let alone tested?

Seems a bit unethical but I'm sure it happens all the time...

now making fake reviews for your own product and site... well that's another story haha At least then you know what you're selling

I don't, but I read a lot of reviews that I am certain fit this description.

More commonly, though, the "fake" review is a negative review of ten products with a "but there's one product that really stood out." A little investigation shows that the standout product is not just an affiliate opportunity, but the actual product of the reviewer. I've seen this a lot lately.

I've done it as a joke before.
I made up ridiculous reviews and placed them on my site to get the point across - don't trust bullshit testimonials.

I'm guessing that tons of reviews are fake. I can't imagine smaller website owners buy everything they review, and I don't think sites get review copies until they grow a little.

What fake testimonials???? You aren't saying that some of these people did NOT become instant millionaires off these info products are you? Knowing that, I now feel so much less stupid for failing to become an instant millionaire myself, but more stupid for being quite so gullible.

Seriously, I got the chance of a lifetime (one time only) to dowload for free (usually sells for $4297) a collection of ebooks. The best part is that every single one of them had the exact same testimonial, with nothing changed but the book title and author name and they were full of non-English (which would be fine if they weren't intended to be in English)

James,

I just got my first look at your new product "Winning with YaSense" and it is amazing product. You really brainstorming! I can't believe that you are offer this product for only $97! This is a great service to all the people out there trying to better themselve....

Something along those lines. For all 21 books.
