Yes you can limit the number of messages, invites you can send ....

And do not use your personal account... Create a dummy account ( preferably female) and start using that account to message etc.

This is old and free. I can't remember where I got it (something like xtrememyspace forums or something) but yeah... y the fuck you need to add anyone on facebook. It provides little to no traffic.
