Hey Guys,

I'm doing pretty well on other traffic sources (Ad center, etc) and looking to conquer Facebook. I've had a luck playing angles on different ethnic groups on other traffic sources, so I figure that same approach would be viable on facebook. I was able to get my account CTR to about 0.2% from international offers so my account cpc have come to reasonable levels.

Your interests are too tight, even if you manage to get your CPC down your demo size is too small to really make it worthwhile.

Plus that offer sucks.

1) target people that like a city in asia (chances the person is originally from that city)
2) people that did study at some asian university

Changes in Strategy​

1. I'm going to rotate 2 offers, Black People Meet and Rich Men. For the newbs out there, there's an awesome script on ctr tard for rotating offers, I'm worried though, will facebook ban you for rotating your offer? It's inconsistent with the ad copy. Don't wanna lose my account :)

2. Hey Yabby, I can't seem to find a demo of Asians big enough (over 30k) with the following criteria

1. Split testing in age groups of 3-5 years
2. 2-3 Related Interests Tops. Tried the city thing, like Beijing, etc etc, demos for dating offers (single, Interested in) are too small
3. Targeting only 1 city at a time.

So.... we're going to try black people :)

Instead of targeting 1,000,000 interests like I did in the last one, I did some demo research on cities that had heavy black pouplations, and chose a city with a heavy black population to target.

3. Black People Meet does not allow landing pages, but Richmen doesn't care, so I' Created a Custom Lander.

The only alternative to Richmen I could find was mate1 with the black LP since most of the black specific offers only want 30+ Traffic

Yea, it's still a complete pain in the A$$, I've gotten POF and ad center on lockdown, any other traffic sources viable for dating you'd reco?

I did pretty well with richmen offer on facebook a few months back.

here's what i did.

I targetted women who liked Bill Gates. (Single)

My ad basically said, "Date a Bill Gates!"

"Date a rich guy like Bill Gates tonight on Richmen.com!"

good ctr, low cpc. good epc.

P.S _ and ALWAYS. ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Split test offers with 3:1 proportion. 3: Current profitagble offer, 1: new offer. even with the same offer, your epc will be very different.
 
You have chosen a wrong time to start your activity on FB seems that he becomes absolutely crazy lately. Pm and I can advise you a good offer.

Still lost money on this one

So the good news is that I didn't throw $50 out the window like last time and it appears that mate1 actually outperformed marginally, though its a small sample size.

The road to first profitable campaign is pretty clear, just gotta get some higher quality images up =)


Couple of Optimization questions:

1. Once I find a batch of profitable ads, my current daily spend is $7, do I increase that?
2. How long do ads usually stay profitable on a demo size of 50k & 100K respectively?
3. Let's say my demo size is 100k, and I find 3 profitable ads, how many more should I try and find before I start losing leverage?

Duuude............ Sick Tip! Its shit like this I'm hoping for when I make these posts, I seriously just need to sit under a tree sometime and think of good angles like that, but that is awesome!

The questions are simple but there are no absolutely accurate answers.

1) Sure, but you may find that certain days are more profitable than others, so spend your budget there. With a small demographic, it may not help to show them the same advert excessively, there is a burnout.
2) Not long. Think of ads as sinking ships, jump to the next one.
3) If your ads are profitable, you should test a wider audience. How many more? Lots, but keep your targeting tight. No way to be specific, unfortunately.

Dating in general, FB in particular, and PPV overall were great at one time, but it went sour for me eventually. Partly that I just don't like the business plan of jumping from one sinking ship to another. Also the advertising venue does their best to shut you out, the offers scrub you until it's not viable, the networks compete against you, the noobs steal your landers. This is a hostile environment.

If you can make it work - great!
 
I dont fux with teh dating offers but some thoughts on targeting:

-Target hentai, anime and related terms:tentacle porn (not actually, but you get what Im saying), Akira, etc. If they like teh comics/pr0n they'll probably be down with some azn dating sites.
-Target areas with significant asian populations - LA, SF, SEA, VAN, etc.\
-Targeting le geeks: engineers, CS majors, IT, webmaster (but not ghey webmasters), etc.
-Buy CPM with limited spend and see what happens
 
I too heard bad stories about this offer. And lately, about more and more dating offers unfortunately. :( This is a really good thread though, we need more case studies! And remember, you took action, optimized, asked for help... you're 99% ahead of other affiliates! Keep testing and optimizing and you'll get into the "green zone" in no time.

do not see that pics, what do you mean lol ? if about offer than it's really scam as well as whole Date Connected operation. They do not even count leads from test IP of original countries in their tracking and do not reply to e-mails.

Why CPA networks works with such people out of my mind... there are hundreds of dating sites which do not scrub, it's possible to block that suckers...
