I have been going through these forums for the past week and obtaining alot of useful information. Even with that knowledge I am sure I am probably at best 5% through where I need to be to have any shot at being successful. The one thing I am trying to to come to a decision is the revenue side and whether to use AdSense or Affiliate Marketing with a network (I hope I got that right).
I see alot of members are sucessful with the AdSense so regardless of where this takes me I will want to use that in the beginning. What I was hoping to get were some examples of current sites using Ad Sense making $150/month and $500/month to give me an idea of what is realistcally possible. I understand the work behind the scenes with indexing, SEO, and marketing the site to reach that goal is extensive but right now I am more interested in content.
I understand members not wanting to give out their secrets or any site ideas that could be copied. So if you want to give me a competitor or something else that is fine as well. I have three site ideas which I believe can be sucessful but then again I am sure everyone goes into this thinking that. One I was very lucky in obtaining a domain that expired and a similar site is averaging a large amount of monthly hits. The other two are very niche sites so there is limited competition out there. If I could make $500.00/month per site I would be extremely happy using this as a secondary income that could grow further in the future. However, I know the amount of initial work and trial and error that it will take to get me from today to the point I need to be so I want to make sure that my vision is possible. I am not looking for a get rich quick opportunity but if I am going to dedicate a significant amount of time to this I want to make sure my goal is attainable.
Any help with this would be appreciated. Any criticism is fine as well as I know I am a noob just scratching the surface. Also I have never seen a forum that is as sarcastic as you guys are and I think its great.
