The second they add a space before the question mark (like: "hello are you there ?") you can instantly assume they are almost always fraud and most likely using some crappy translator.

No shit? Is that what those weird spaces and commas are all about? A translation bot?
That's the best that I can figure - that, or in their language they append spaces before / after punctuation so they are used to it.
Also happens sometimes when they are using an older phone to send a text. there's like 1 key for all the special chars and they have to cycle through a bunch of them for ',' and '.' somewhere in there it inserts a space.
Another dead giveaway is when they put $'s after the number.
